Why shouldn't we think that?
The paper says Chelsea are after him: if he is potentially available, with a current U21 capt and former coach of the player almost certainly in Freund with us, and no such links to Chelsea, I presume you don't think we have at least a chance, esp at the money??

Chelsea have been linked with Schurrle for the best part of two years now, and I believe he has always stated that thsts where he'd like to go if he came to the PL. For what its worth, he even has 'would prefer to play in the PL' and 'would prefer to play for Chelsea' in his Football Manager profile. Bit silly bringing it up maybe, but the SI guys do research the absolute shit out of things and base it all on documented evidence.
Time to get him was before he moved to Leverkusen, when he was around 19 years old and already banging in top flight goals for Nuremburg.

Chelsea don't even have a manager yet for next season and could possibly finish outside of top 4. Its also not been a great season for Marin, so why can't we compete with them for transfers?
