I'm judging on his entire career, where he's looked good for poor clubs and out of his depth for good sides.

I think Villa/Everton is probably his true level.

Apart from 15 appearances for Chelsea, who are the good sides he's played for regularly?

FFS, he never even got a suistained run in the Chelsea side, in and out.

Jenas was our best player against Inter away, and had a hand in all three Bale goals. He also put in some other excellent performances this season like Villa, Wolves, Bremen etc. As he has for most of his career with us. A career spent as a CM in a 442, which is a hard discipline, virtually ever present in our two 5ths, outstanding when we won the CC the next year, great with Palacios in Redknapp's first season.

For most of the seasons he's been here he's been by far our highest scoring central midfielder, and usually our most prolific assister, as well as most frequent passer who also gives the ball away least.

I just don't understand why we still haven't managed to upgrade someone so shit ?

Still, I'm sure Parker and his little legs will take us to the next level though...

have we ever had any real offers for him?...and I also get the feeling thats he's quite happy to play 1 in 7/8 games.

Villa and Wolves were excellent?

I was referring more to how if he was so shit we haven't managed to upgrade him in 6 years.

i feel i have to say something here haha!! for me jenas is the most over rated player i have ever seen.. i personally think he is not even a premiership player. for a central midfield the game constantly passes him by and his awareness and tendency to pick up positions on pitch where his opposite marker just effortlessly goes past him and picks up play in front of out back 4 is absolutely shocking to say least. a central midfield player is worth his weight in gold if he can get goals so i wont jump on him there but for someone who has a bit of a reputation to get goals his record is absolute muck. for me the proper central midfield player i like is a sandro type player and apart from modric obviosuly - he gets stuck in , fills in and gets around pitch in a intelligent fashion, rarely goes beyond ball and when he does has the skill and class to be able to pass it , be progressive and strong. jenas offers none of that. all he has going for him is his ability to run and his stamina. reason he only has got games in past 2 seasons is cos of injuries and reason he has not been sold iis further indictment of alot of footballers and shows us aliitle insight into his character - he is quite happy to sit on his arse and do fucking nothing accept his role which only shows a lack of ambition and passion but who will pay his wages which im sure is a hefty amount when they can get way better at a cheaper cost. similair situation to keane-better younger cheaper strikers out there for ur return.

Because he's quite content showing flashes of quality in amongst a load of abject performances, constantly flattering to make the step up to fulfill his potential but never actually doing so in 6 years. The fact that he's been picking up a bloated paycheck whilst flattering to deceive for 6 fucking years is, i'm sure, much a shock to him as anyone else. He's quite happy being a part of the furniture, lest someone realise he's been here for 6 YEARS and not improved one bit since his days at Newcastle.

He's 28 FFS! I actually had to look that up. What's he been doing all this time?

Parker has been awful for England today, I just don't rate him and fail to see how he is better than Palacios.

There isn't a single England player anyone would buy on that performance!
Parker wasn't the worst.

we have? modric, hudd, sandro and palacios are now all picked before him.

Modric wasn't bought as a CM, and many days I still wouldn't play him there, it's a waste. Hudd will soon go back to where he's been for 5 of the six years he's been with us and Palacios and Sandro are not the same player at all.

Jenas is a box to box player who game leans more towards going forwards than backwards. Palacios and Sandro are far more defensive biased.

Huddelstone is neither. Too slow to get up and down the pitch, and two cumbersome to be a busy ****.

We should keep Palacios and Sandro and find a genuine box to box replacement for Jenas. Keita would be my idea of an upgrade, not Parker.

There's no doubt that Parker had a good season at West Ham etc etc...but where would he fit in at Spurs?
Harry make a huge point about how unbalanced the Spurs squad was when he got there. And he was right to some extent. But what did Harry do last season: bring in v.d. Vaart, who in itself had an excellent season but upset the balance of the team... simply because of of the 4 strikers NONE of them were a lone striker not could any of them ever adjust to that position (not their fault they weren't built for that role). So he ended up trying out v.d. Vaart as LMF, RMF, CMF, playing in the "hole" etc. It has taken Harry the whole season to figure out how to fit v.d. Vaart into the team and well he's still yet to figure it out...
And now comes Parker (maybe). There should be no doubt that the 3 best players in the middle are Modric, v.d. Vaart and Sandro! Even if Spurs do sell O'Hara, Niko, JJ, Gio and Palacios they still go Thud and Pienaar pushing. So would Parker be happy being a bench player? Doubt so after he won the POYR award. Does that mean Sandro - a player who is about to establish himself as a top class DM - get less playing time? Or what about Thud? He will be the player who would "suffer" most by an eventual Parker signing. Harry's boosted so much about Thud...just to make him a peripherial player all of a sudden?
Harry has yet to master the art of rotation. Bale and Ekotto were over used last season (and it was not lack of quality subs as both Rose and Niko could easily have played for an odd 15-20 min here and there). And it's a bit worrying that many of Harry's signings - Naughton, Bassong, Palacios, Niko, Crouch, Defoe - looks like they're either on the way out or have failed to deliver (v.d. Vaart was signed by Levy and Sandro was bough unseen by Harry after scouts had recommended him).

I agree with you about Thud...but not about Modric. He had never been used as a LMF until he joined Spurs and has shown time and again that he's a top class CMF. And that's were people like Fergie envisions him in their teams....
Keita has stated he won't leave Barca even though he's not getting regular 1st team footy.

Who has been your toughest opponent, either in Europe or the EPL?
Luka: It was hard playing against Real Madrid and also against AC Milan at home. It was tough against Xabi Alonso but from the English league it is always hard playing against the likes of Scott Parker, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parker would be an excellent signing and is obviously a player appreciated by Modric.

Jenas is the most frustrating player I've ever seen in my life, Pav comes close to him mind you. Both players with all the tools, but completely shit attitude/a complete lack of bottle.

Modric - and Spurs - had a hard time against Blackpool (and Adam) as well...

Considering Spurs were the better side in both Blackpool games your point is pretty poor to be honest.

I'm sure Modric is just returning the compliment as Parker said Modric has been his toughest opponent.
