You still not away to Glory Glory?

Can't wait to read your opinion on Joe Cole.

You are the one trying to rubbish an opinion. Isn't it a fact that Spurs and Modric struggled against Blackpool?

So what? We struggled against most of the bottam sides in the Premier League this season.

Modric was commenting on what indivduals impressed him in the English League not what teams.

Spurs didn't actually struggle against Blackpool, they just didn't take the chances. The away game especially was unbelievable... seem to recall a soft penalty from Brett's favourite goalkeeper at home along with one of our best players getting completely wrecked.

The teams we've struggled against, you could count on one hand. The team's we've failed to kill off with poor finishing is another matter entriely.

So a team is an abstract entity devoid of individual players?

Whilst casually forgetting that he actually saved a penalty too.

Spurs lost 3-0 at their ground and you say that is not struggling. That's just one goal less than the loss at Real M.
To repeat myself: I am not saying Parker is a bad player....but Harry has little knowledge/experience of rotating a squad with quality players. How is he going to keep Parker, Thud, Pienaar, Sandro, Modric, Vaart happy? If Parker is happy being behind Sandro, Modric, and Vaart then fine. But then you have the Thud problem: he's already stated he would leave Spurs if he doesn't get regular 1st team footy.

Wow! So you are on here just to start and win arguments? You never answered my question though. Didn't know we had a competition here.

Why is this do difficult to grasp...Modric thinks he's a good player, I would agree.

You don't - who cares

Was actually 3-1

Then had a childish rush of adrenaline akin to an 8 year old in Sunday league?

I prefer him to our other options, that said.

It puts him even over the two incidents though.

I think you'll find it was 3-1 and we utterly murdered them, the scoreline doesn't always tell the full story you know. If you've watched us at all this season then you should know that.

Parker should near enough walk into the side in front of Huddlestone and should be made captain, but just write him off before he's even signed or kicked a ball...that's the way to do it.

And the squad will be rotated anyways, lots of games to play next year.

I don't want to argue cos I actually like Gomes and want him to stay because I think with a consistent back for protected by a DCM he would regain his confidence and eradicate his errors and become the top class keeper he was in our run in the year we made fourth.

But I am an argumentative lil' bastard by nature so I will just say..... the penalty save and rush of blood do not really cancel each other out because the end result was as bad as if he had never saved the first penalty (in effect making his save irrelevant as if they had scored the first there would have been no corner for him to defend and fluff)

Not really. Save the penalty, deal with the corner we keep the clean sheet. Then Defoe's late goal (if it had happened) would have been a match winner rather than a partial blush sparer.

He's not expected to save the penalty though.

Save penalty +1
Give away penalty -1

Is that like when Alan Partidge says I've just had a negative so now I need two positives? Or a similar logic?

Saving a penalty, credit? Yes. Then flailing at a corner and then needlessly taking a guy out? Don't seem like a levelling up of events.

Surely we should be deducted -1.1 for not learning the error of his ways for making the same stupid challenge on Ramires earlier in the season

Its kind of why he is there? To save the penalty! No it doesnt happen every time, but he is expected to save some penalties just as much as he is meant to save some normal shots. If a keeper saves a shot they are not suddenly a hero, or is a defender if they make a good tackle, a midfielder if they make a good pass or a striker if they score a goal.

So if Gomes fails to save a penalty, you're disappointed in him as he's expected to save it? Probably only 1 in 5 penalties are saved, not 4 in 5 unless the player taking them is Defoe.

if Defoe was tripped in the box then stepped up and missed the penalty would that be ok? As it was him who won the penalty? Of course it wouldnt!
