Looks a lovely player Dinpomp. Seems like he has great feet and awareness of when opposition players are around him. I've gone back and watched quite a few of those videos that you've made and although being a different kind of player, the way he moves the ball or gets his foot to the ball just that bit quicker than the opposition player reminds me a lot of when Xabi Alonso played in England. That slightly quicker brain and movement is esssential in English football when the pace is so high and he looks to have that special something.

Nice range of passing, lovely control dribbling through the centre, decent size for a 17 year old.

I'm sure in the past he'd have been the type of player in a foreign league that we would have been totally oblivious to, but you'd have to imagine with our Croatian connections and our apparent interest in bringing in younger players for the future we'll know all about him.

Thanks again Dinpomp.

All i'm hoping is that if one of these lads with some decent talent is available at a reasonable price, we occasionally take a gamble. Whilst Perisic has only been a Dortmund a short while 5 million euros seems like decent business. His goal against the scum alone must be worth somewhere in that region on it's own!

Does anyone on here get to see much of Serie A? I don't sadly, but I really like Hernanes and Asamoah (Udinese).

Hernanes was awesome last season, haven't seen much of Lazio this season so far. Watched Roma last night and boy are they struggling. Luis Enrique's got his hands full there.

Not sure if anyone caught the Man U match v Leeds but it was my first glimpse of Pogba and the guy seems impressive. Also Larnell Cole looked like he will have a bright future. Can imagine he'll get loaned out at some point.

Absolutely outstanding for a 17 year old.

If we want a star of tomorrow, look no further than Kovacic.

That's obscene. His feet are ridiculously good. He's a totally different class and looks very equipped for the Premier League.

Is it wrong that a tiny part of me is thinking "Wouldn't it be funny to sell Luka to Chelsea for 50m next summer and replace him with this kid for 2.5m and it turns out Kovacic is even better"?

Just read in a german newspaper that Man United are interested in Kovacic and Situm. But knowing Mamic they will have to bid 15m for each to even let him consider a move. I think Badelj, Sammir, Vrsaljko will leave first, then after 2-3 more years Kovacic and Situm will follow.

Is it wrong that a tiny part of me is thinking "Wouldn't it be funny to sell Luka to Chelsea for 50m next summer and replace him with this kid for 2.5m and it turns out Kovacic is even better"?

Yeah its wrong in my opinion. Kovacic is right now probably better than Luka was with 20, or maybe even when he moved to us. But right now Luka is irreplaceable in our team. Kovacic would need 1-2 seasons to get used to his new players, the tempo etc. The right move would be to buy Kovacic now, let him train and as sub play games with the team this season, and then when hes settled sell Luka for 50m

All that ignoring the fact that Kovacic wont be sold for anything under 15m by Dinamo :)

Edit: Also I dont think Kovacic is physically yet ready for the EPL. He is only 17 and still growing. Dinamo has now employed Zvonko Komes as fitness coach, who was for Hitzfeld in Bayern and the Swiss NT his fitness coach of thrust, and is considered among the top 3 fitness coaches worldwide. Kovacic gained in the last months since Komes took over about 7kg muscle mass!. So I think it would be best for him to stay at Dinamo and with Komes for some more years and develop until he moves to the mighty spurs

Ask Bojan if there's any chance he'll go for that amount.

Yeah, like that's the least likely part of that suggestion.

15m, though? For 17 year old? Given Perisic's price, surely he wouldn't be three times that? Guess it depends who's bidding.

I was really surprised that Cabaye joined Newcastle. I doubt he will be there long.

I have been impressed by the young Everton striker,Apostolos Vellios and at just 19 looks like a real prospect.

I also like Cabaye of Newcastle and like the look of Faurlin at QPR.
A few of the new guys in the Premiership this season and worth keeping a look at.

Who has impressed you guys in the League this year?

he has certainly started very well at Newcastle, looks the signing of the season so far, or maybe Parker

Newcastle have done really well recently and have made a lot of very shrewd buys.
Tiote,Cabaye,Ba and Ben Arfa are all very good players, add in the trickery of Marveaux and Obertan and they are a dangerous side.
I still can't understand why we didn't go for Demba Ba in the window.....a free transfer and someone who could have come in when Adebayor gets injured.
If Adebayor gets injured between now and January,we are screwed.

He is one tackle away from his career ending apparently and that was the reason why he failed a medical at stoke

I have watched Cabaye play in France and I was aware of Vellios from his first sub appearance.........first time I have seen Faurlin.
Normally only takes me 10 mins to pick a quality player.

If you watched MOTD who did you like?

I haven't watched 90 minutes of this Cabaye chap yet, but from the highlight packages I've seen this season he's looked very good. Great signing by Newcastle.

Isn't every player one tackle away from retirement.

A one legged Demba Ba would be a better option than Roman Pavlyuchenko.

I'm keeping a close eye on Luuk De Jong. We should be looking at him in January in that Abel Hernandez/Damiao young striker with the potential for immediate impact category. Lovely first touch and movement and a good size, he probably wouldn't be as expensive as Damiao, and is almost certainly lower risk in terms of adapting to the PL, Watch this space.

Yea but one knock to that knee and it is over, also pav might be shit for us atm but he did help us get in to CL and was our top scoring striker last season
