Along with Peresic, Witsel was the bargain of the off season - think he went to Benfica for only 7m euros... don't know much about Gaitan but Witsel would have been such a smart buy.

Yeah, like that's the least likely part of that suggestion.

15m, though? For 17 year old? Given Perisic's price, surely he wouldn't be three times that? Guess it depends who's bidding.

Kovacic won't be sold untill he is 20/21 and if he keeps progressing he will be sold for closer to 30 then 15m. He is better at 17 then Luka at 20/21.

Rene Adler and Samir Handanovic' contracts are up next summer, I really hope that the club are aware of this.

Adler is great. Handanovic not so much. His distribution is poor and his kicking is scary. I wouldn't have much confidence in him with the physical side either.

Interesting, never got that impression from him when I've seen him play.

He is a brilliant keeper, we could sign him in January if his contract negotiations really have stalled.

He'd be a great long term replacement and improvement on Gomes and Friedel.

Of Handanovic? He just always seemed nervy in every game I saw him play at the Friuli. He has improved but I think there are better keepers out there.

Adler has had some problems with injuries right? Other than that he has been superb everytime I have seen Leverkusen play and I would be delighted if we could bring him in.

He's injured at the moment (six months) back in the new year.

Not sure about his previous history.

Would be a great signing and cheap you'd expect - wages would only be 35 or 40k I'd guess. The guy who's covering him at the moment is well worth a look too, Leno, 19 year old on loan from Stuttgart with a 5m euro buy out clause. I'll bang the drum again, I reckon we should look at the Australian back up at Dortmund - Mitch Langerak, he'll skip straight past Federici and replace Schwarzer within two years

Seriously though, I'd send a couple of scouts out to Germany and set them up there for a few months, the talent coming through that country is immense.

Dries Mertens has scored 11 in his 1st 7 league games for PSV

He's a 24 year old Belgian winger, only 5' 5''

Ricky van Wolfswinkel has won player of the Month in Portugal after scoring 4 goals in 5 games in the league and 2 goals in 2 games in EL. Man Utd and Liverpool are now said to be tracking him again.

For those interested in Huntelaar, he's only 1 goal behind Gomez in the Bundesliga topscorer rankings with 7 goals in 8 games, he has a total of 15 goals in just 14 games this season for Schalke. Huntelaar is also the leading goalscorer in Euro 2012 qualifiers with 11 goals in 7 appearances and needs 2 more goals against Sweden to become the all-time highest goal scorer in a single qualifying campaign.

I wanted both Mertens & Strootman when they were available for around a combined £10m this summer.

Good deal for PSV.

It was a little more than that for those 2 and PSV have been under media scrutiny ever since. They were on the brinks of bankruptcy, but were saved by the city of Eindhoven which bought the ground under the Philips stadium a la Madrid and were told not to buy players with said money.. they did anyways and in record fashion bringing in the mentioned Mertens and Strootman added by the likes of Matavz, Wijnaldum, Tyton & Derijck.

Basicly, they bought the league with taxpayers money.

I really hoped there was some truth in the Huntelaar ITK this summer.
