i was upset when Modric said he wants to go for better team, i thought he should give us at least another season to judge of we are that club who could match his ambition or not.

now we played our last friendly game, so it's 1 week before kicking the start of new season, we made only one first team signing, and it's Friedel on free, who looks like as backup for Gomes.

even thought we are close to sign Diarra, but since there is Huddlestone ( and Sandro, WP ) , i don't think he is going to make us that better, we only know that from 2 seasons, the problem is our strikers

now, I'm honest, i don't blame Modric for wanting out.

top teams must be ready before the start of the season. and clearly we aren't ready as we didn't make enough reinforcements.

we must sell him, we aren't ambitions enough, it's not good to start with the same team ( specially this fixture ) and find the player wants out in late days of the transfer window, and blaming him like Berbatov for poor start.

not sure if its just me but it very much sounds like you are throwing a tantrum and cutting your nose off to spite your face as they say!

btw - dont you find the highlighted sentance a touch ironic?

I do think the absolutist stance we've taken in relation to keeping Modric has been undermined somewhat by our failure to prepare for this season. Are we serious about competing or not?

still 25 days left in the window. Chill Winston.

Everton (A) after 7 days, and Man United (A) after 14 days, and 28/8 we've City (H) , we scored only 1 goal from same fixture last season.

if we lost some points, do you think it wouldn't send wrong signals about us, may be more than selling Modric ?

How many first team players have Chelsea signed in this window?

Seriously, this is one of the worst posts I've read in a long time.

Whaaa, we haven't signed anyone. Whaaa, Modric is too big for us. Whaaa, we should just let him leave. Whaaa, nobody loves me.

You seem to be speaking as a Luka Modric supporter rather than a Tottenham Hotspur supporter. Although I do agree that our lack of ambition thus far is there for us all to see.

We play Everton at home. Both Everton and Man Utd are notorious for being slow starters in the league most seasons.

Seriously, get a frigging grip on reality for a sec. We all want a new striker as much as you do, but come on dude, chill yourself out. Have a wank, you'll feel better.

and seriously, how much they paid in last day for transfer window ? they were about to lose their CL place, but ended 2nd.

they've already said Midfielder from Barcelona, and about to get Lukaku.

i ask you question, do you think we are able to get back to top four ? do you think we can finish above 2 of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea ?

after answering that, let me know which the worst post for long time, i can't be optimistic for nothing, it's joke.

clearly, you missed fact, it was more than 60 days of wait. Lost patience with this board.

Signing a striker will not just solve our problem, we need diarra as well, the gap between midfield and strikers is huge, only until walker and bale came on started attacking was this gap made smaller,

a sitting DM would allow our midfield to push up more and not make the team sit, trying to keep its shape with two banks of four

They spent £50m on Torres in January. How much of an influence did he have on Chelsea's form in the second half of the season? If anything, he was a detriment to their play.

They've signed a young midfielder from Barcelona who is clearly one for the future. So have we. They're trying to sign a young striker for the future. We've already done that.

Liverpool have spent a crap load of money on decent players, but they still don't have a better first team or a better squad than Spurs. Arsenal have signed Gervinho, but they've still yet to improve their defence. Plus they're having a hard enough time holding onto Nasri and Fabregas?

Do I think Spurs can finish above Liverpool and Arsenal? Yes. With a couple of signings, I think Spurs can compete against Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea. But without a top class striker or two coming in, we still have the strength to outperform Liverpool and Arsenal.

Do I think your post is one of the worst I've read in a while? Yes. Your post is claiming we have to let Modric leave because we've yet to sign a striker, which shows a lack of our ambition.

Our ambition has seen us attempt to strike deals for Falcao, Rossi, Adebayor, Aguero, Forlan, Llorente and Vucinic. Is that a lack of ambition? No. We just don't have the financial muscle or stature as a club to complete deals like that easily.

But the transfer window is far from shut yet. There's still plenty of time for one, even two of those players to arrive.
