They spent £50m on Torres in January. How much of an influence did he have on Chelsea's form in the second half of the season? If anything, he was a detriment to their play.

They've signed a young midfielder from Barcelona who is clearly one for the future. So have we. They're trying to sign a young striker for the future. We've already done that.

Liverpool have spent a crap load of money on decent players, but they still don't have a better first team or a better squad than Spurs. Arsenal have signed Gervinho, but they've still yet to improve their defence. Plus they're having a hard enough time holding onto Nasri and Fabregas?

Do I think Spurs can finish above Liverpool and Arsenal? Yes. With a couple of signings, I think Spurs can compete against Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea. But without a top class striker or two coming in, we still have the strength to outperform Liverpool and Arsenal.

Do I think your post is one of the worst I've read in a while? Yes. Your post is claiming we have to let Modric leave because we've yet to sign a striker, which shows a lack of our ambition.

Our ambition has seen us attempt to strike deals for Falcao, Rossi, Adebayor, Aguero, Forlan, Llorente and Vucinic. Is that a lack of ambition? No. We just don't have the financial muscle or stature as a club to complete deals like that easily.

But the transfer window is far from shut yet. There's still plenty of time for one, even two of those players to arrive.

Torress didn't make impact, but that's doesn't mean he won't, you know how good he is. he just came from some injuries in last 18 months.

as for Liverpool, i disagree, yes they brought decent players, but all of them are EPL players, and before their arrivial, Liverpool managed to reduce the difference between us and them with only Suarez ( Carroll wasn't fit most of the 2nd half of the season ) so add Adam, Downining and Henderson to them ? plus without Eroupean fixture ? they are going to challenge for title, they've one of the best Mid. in the country now.

Arsenal ? we always said same things about them. But even thought, we need to finish above two teams.

already Ferguson said, unless you think SAF is stupid, this is different story.

-edit-
you can't count like that, for 3 reasons:
1) because they've Suarez & Carroll, and they are better than VDV & Pav.
2) teams isn't about invidiviuals, it's about a team.
3) they don't have eroupean fixture, remember us how we managed top 4 ? tell me the squad, and City players !

so if anyone disagrees with fergie then they think he is stupid? can he not be wrong?

i apologise and take it all back. Fergie thinks liverpool might be contenders, in which case they will be. Though i dont remember fergie saying liverpool have one of the best midfields in the country. What a complete clueless post by you - very poor.

ps - next time you edit your post can you please ensure it makes sense.

Errrr...ummm....No

This is probably the most apt response to the OP.

and seriously, how much they paid in last day for transfer window ? they were about to lose their CL place, but ended 2nd.

they've already said Midfielder from Barcelona, and about to get Lukaku.

i ask you question, do you think we are able to get back to top four ? do you think we can finish above 2 of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea ?

after answering that, let me know which the worst post for long time, i can't be optimistic for nothing, it's joke.

clearly, you missed fact, it was more than 60 days of wait. Lost patience with this board.

:rofl::rofl::rofl:

yes i do.

And, like Pringle, yes, I very seriously believe we can get back into the CL spots.
So, that kinda nullifies all of your arguments really. Far from convincing us by asking this, you have confirmed how delusional you are if you really believe the majority of Spurs fans are ready to throw the towel in before the first game of the season.

Somebody get s straight jacket for the man

Q8y, many posters have congratulated you on the improvements in your English, and on making good posts (myself included). But this thread is incredibly sad, bad and dangerous to know. Sorry.

Seriously, get a frigging grip on reality for a sec. We all want a new striker as much as you do, but come on dude, chill yourself out. Have a wank, you'll feel better.

No chance, 60 days, I struggle to go 60 minutes.

The lad's clearly frustrated (in more ways than one) but I do agree we haven't exactly give Modric reason to change his mind, today showed though why we really can't let him go. Come on Levy shut us pessimists up once and for all

Funny, really, Mill, given our convo this after, and this post, that it is more-or-less being confirmed that we have signed Diarra (so, we have strengthened - kinda negating any argument that we should sell Modric 'cos we haven't strengthened), and rumours (see Twitter thread - so it's gospel, then:grin:), confirm this and say two more to follow (Levy working super-hard - hope he has extra cloth stitched into his trousers to prevent rippageEek).

Calm is needed...and patience.

Na Mancini will get sacked. Wenger will leave at the end of the season either for England or PSG and be replaced by Klopp. Drogba won't like taking orders from a manager the same age as him and it will all kick off.

Meanwhile we sign 3 world class players and cruise along.

He was class today I thought. After the reception he got today after everything that happened I think there's no question he'll give us his all playing for us. After the response he was given, it's the least he could do and I'm sure he'll do it.

I'm going to buck the trend and stand out from the crowd here by congratulating the OP on his post.

Not because it makes any fucking sense whatsoever, just because it made me laugh so much just when I needed a good laugh!

We're a Llorente and a Diarra away from having as good a starting eleven as anyone in the league.

And whilst Levy always tends to leave it late it's because we really can't afford to piss money away on players.
We can't spend £50million on the above 2 whilst shipping out Crouch/Palacios for £10million, we'd pretty soon go bust.

We put in realistic bids for other players and only accept realistic bids for ours and if we pick up Llorente/Diarra for £40million whilst getting £20million back for Palacios/Crouch that will be great business and worth waiting for.

How many first team players have Chelsea signed in this window?

Seriously, this is one of the worst posts I've read in a long time.

Whaaa, we haven't signed anyone. Whaaa, Modric is too big for us. Whaaa, we should just let him leave. Whaaa, nobody loves me.

To be fair Chelsea spent enough in January??? We should have spunked some cash by now on some proper strikers
