Sepp Blatter - Complete Idiot?

Fifa president Sepp Blatter believes that Cristiano Ronaldo should not be held against his will at Manchester United.

Ronaldo has been linked with a record-breaking transfer to Real Madrid following publicised courting from the Primera Division giants.

Real's open pursuit of the two-time PFA Players' Player of the Year saw United report the club to Fifa; however football's world governing body decided against taking any formal action.

On the subject of the Portugal international's future, Blatter expressed his belief that a want-away player should be allowed to leave his club if he so desires, while he also hit out at what he describes as 'modern slavery' in football.

Solution

"The important thing is, we should also protect the player," he told Sky Sports News.

"If the player wants to play somewhere else, then a solution should be found because if he stays in a club where he does not feel comfortable to play then it's not good for the player and for the club.

"I'm always in favour of protecting the player and if the player, he wants to leave, let him leave.

"I think in football there's too much modern slavery in transferring players or buying players here and there, and putting them somewhere.

"We are trying now to intervene in such cases. The reaction to the Bosman law is to make long-lasting contacts in order to keep the players and then if he wants to leave, then there is only one solution, he has to pay his contract."

Forget '39th game'

Meanwhile, Blatter has reiterated his stance over the Premier League's proposal to play a '39th game' overseas.

He said: "The 39th game as presented will never happen. To my knowledge what they (the Premier League) want to do is perhaps to play some of the League Cup matches somewhere outside of England. That's the last information I got.

"They should just forget about that."

He is basically completely discouraging loyalty to contracts, it's hard enough for clubs outside the top four to keep hold of talent as it is. Cock.

Why don't we then abolish contracts Mr Blatter? Just have a pool of 500 or so players, and for each match do a lottery as to who is playing for who? CHRIST is this guy mental! The football market should be the same as the job market. You're on a salary at a club and if you wanna leave then you give ya notice in, work out ya notice and at the end of it your free to leave!!! Would get rid of transfer fees, wages might go up in respect of that sure, but then they don't have to..surely it's market forces, if no one is willing to pay your wages, you don't work!? I wish I could call another company and say "hey im a bit bored here, why don't you put a cheeky bid into my current employer of about a million quid for me to come work with you? oh and by the way, I want 80000 a week for the privaledge?" Football really has gone mad!

Indeed he is a complete idiot.

I'd like to know if he actually does say this stuff out loud, or its just a media spin on it though, as its truely shocking that the president of FIFA would be this stupid.

I think he's a complete disgrace. How he can describe pampered footballers who earn 100k per week 'slaves' is tasteless in the extreme.

I really hope he gets a lot of stick for his comments as it trivialises the plight of many millions of people who really are slaves in this world...

What a tool! Can someone just find him a dick, paint it with the names of the G14 clubs and give it to him to suck?

modern slavery!! the bloke has gone mad. In my eyes this backs up my opinion that he is a cock and he has it in for English football, i bet he would never have said this if United were trying to unsettle Ronaldo from Madrid?

Not the first spunktastic thing Mr Blatter has said. How he held the role he did for so long is baffling.

This is the ejit that awarded he World Cup to South Africa because he was desperate to pay back his African power base.

Totally agree mate, tasteless indeed. I watched the interview on SSN this morning, the guy is a smug, slimey prick. How corrupt FIFA must be for this moron to have been in charge for so long! :bang:

I think both Blatter & Platini have an obvious anti English agenda and should both go.

Re South Africa World Cup 2010, a few days ago he said that it would be an act of God that prevented S.A. from hosting in a couple of year's time.

Now, in his latest ramblings, he's insinuated that he's sounbded out three alternative countries to step in last minute, including, alegedly, England.

What is it with this guy? Is he ill with some sort of mental forgetfullness disease?
