I have a lot of faith in the club, I don't think we'd chase this move without strong confidence in the visa situation.

I can't imagine we'd go for him if he was likely to be prosecuted? Because we've gone this far we must be confident of the result of the appeal.

Fingers crossed for this. He'd more than fill the void Walker has left. And on his past, not every player who's come through Spurs has been a saint. VdV, Gazza, even Ledley made bad mistakes. People have short memories. As long as this kid keeps his head on straight and does the business on the pitch anything else will be quickly forgotten. Also, the lad who scored a brace against on the weekend has done much, much worse. Not sure I saw too many Chelsea fans complaining on Sunday...

Very similar to Walker as a player, lacks his height but probably better technically.

He was convicted and received a suspended sentence so no chance of him being incarcerated. He is appealing to clear his name but doesn't have any impact on his freedom. As others have said there is a big difference between him being denied entry for a single match and receiving a work permit.

Well that is not necessarily true. Many countries refuse entry to persons convicted of crimes in other countries regardless of what the punishment was. Should he not be able to enter, one could argue that is a restriction on his freedom.

I'm afraid that this is not so. He was convicted and sentenced to two months in prison. His time in prison was postponed while his appeal was heard. If he loses the appeal he would have to go to prison.

Well at least that would take another £10 million off the price.

I read somewhere that he wouldn't do any bird and that he'd end up doing some community service. Multi millionaires rarely do any time for such minor things.

He won't be able to do community service if he's in a different country. Maybe that's what needs straightening out.

Levy is probably negotiating with the judges, they are happy to allow the appeal but he's after extradition to England as an add on.
