Milan had next to no pace at all in their team. Without Pato they really are abunch of slow old fuckers who couldn't exploit there 1 man advantage because it took them 5 years to move the ball from one end of the field to the other. Leonardo should've went alot more attacking after the red and tried to stretch them but again the lack of pace from anyone in their whole team makes it impossible

Maicon was still bombing forward when Inter were a man down because he had the pace and fitness to still get back and mark Ronaldinhos slow ass. Beckham at RF against quality opponents is also a very mad decision he offered next to nothing bar the odd cross.

I'm shocked that they haven't used the opportunity to freshen up their squad in January, especially given their decent run of form had put them in with a surprise shot at the title.

Pace in Milan's midfield and attack has been a problem since Ancelotti was there, really thought Leonardo would do something about that in the summer and he hasn't and nothing this January either, instead persisting with Pirlo, Gattuso, Ambrosini, Seedorf, Ronaldinho and now Beckham. Even Flamini is underused there. I'm amazed that a team like Milan doesn't try and sign Lennon, because they could seriously do with a player like him.

Milan have often gone with a similar style to Chelsea (probably why Ancelotti was a good fit for them) in that they rely on the fullbacks to bomb forward. Abate is the only one with any real pace. He is ok, but doesn't have end product just yet. Its a shame they didn't get Cissokho signed aswell in the summer, cos he looks pretty quick at left back. But they do lack pace going forward. I wouldn't be surprised if they make a move for Gareth Bale in the summer. But i would like to see a winger signed aswell. Beckham and Ronaldinho are too slow out wide. I had high hopes for Gourcuff before they sold him. They could do with a modern day winger like that. I'm a little surprised they haven't shown interest in Robinho actually.

I was excited in the summer when I heard they were signing Cissokho, Dzeko and Hernanes. Those 3 could have made a real difference but in the end they got none of them.

Even loaning Gio wouldn't have been a bad move for them.

They play a similar system to Inter the difference is the athleticism of the CM's in both squads. Inter also have the advantage of having the best RB in the world in Maicon who bombs forward at every opportunity. Milan miss Pato up top but they just need younger legs in CM, but I doubt that will change any time soon as players like Pirlo, Ambrosini and Gattuso are stalwarts.

Adrian Mutu has failed a drugs test following Fiorentina's game against Bari. Hope he hasn't fallen off the wagon.

Why didn't he just avoid eating bad food, instead of trying to supress it?

Because sometimes the call of the golden arches, the colnel and that king of burgers is just too great. Even if you live in Italy.

Probably because Leonardo's all too well aware that he's a complete nut job.

Ferrara has finally bit the bullet, Alberto Zaccheroni has been put in charge of Juve

Or they didn't want Zaccheroni's first game to be away to Inter. Looks like they will go for Rafa in the summer, he will suit Italian football I think.

Mancini has joined Milan on loan from Inter, shows how different the rivalries are in Italy. He never fitted the system at Inter but will give Milan some pace and width which they severely lack

I thought he was quality for Roma. He should offer something extra to the Milan attack which seems a bit flat in the final 3rd.

Big points dropped again at the weekend, so 2nd spot and the Champions League has to be the target now. The form United are in however, i think they'll struggle big time in the Champions League. I see United winning that and Milan seeing out the season in relatively casual form.

Loads of players have crossed that divide in the past, Pirlo and Seedorf are two high profile examples, a few in the other direction too. Jankulovski was supposed to be involved in a swap for Mancini but he rejected the deal.

Well they do share Stadium, so why not share players too? Its totally different to Spurs and Arsenal. Have we ever loaned between ourselves or Arsenal in the past?
