I think he's a fantastic striker. Watched him quite a bit in the last two years. Very quick and strong, can link up play well, gets into very good goalscoring positions and actually moves around and pulling defenders out of position.
To top it all, he's a very good finisher.
His age is perfect, turning 27 this month, he's in the prime of his career. He works hard and can press well so I think he can adapt to Poch's system very well.
If he's available in a decent price, in the range of £12M-£17M, we should be all over it. Never really understood why bigger clubs than us didn't try to sign him.

I definitely would not want us to sign Hulk for £25m.

But would you sign him for £15m, as that's the transfer fee that's quoted for Doumbia. It's only his buy-out which is £25m (and the two things are entirely different)

Where in this thread are you seeing £15m? I see no mention of this. The only value I can see is the £25m in here. (The value quoted and the value you'd want him for are entirely different). P.s. No I wouldn't want Hulk for that.

All of the press surrounding a transfer for him has been £15m
(i.e. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/409316/EXCLUSIVE-Chelsea-Man-City-s-NEMESIS-Seydou-Doumbia, http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpool-plan-15million-seydou-doumbia-4594769)

There's a world outside of this thread, and the only reference at all to £25m is that it is his buy-out clause. His buyout clause and his value are two different things.

P.S. I'd want Hulk for £15m - better than a goal every 2 games across his career.

Ah right. The Daily Star and the Mirror. Cheers. Thanks for enlightening me to the outside world. Why would they sell their best player for £10m less than his clause?

Because it represents a lot of money to a club that is said to have financial problems.

There's been absolutely zero ITK in this thread saying a price at all - I assume you're going off the Evening Standard article that merely quotes his buy out clause, so the whole issue is moot and doesn't really justify the amount of emotion you seem to be investing in it.

Yep, I'm getting all emotional. I can see where you got that from. A release clause is a lot more official than a price being banded about by press trying to whip up a transfer rumour. Not getting emotional about it, frankly I don't care. I don't appreciate your misguided/shit attempts at sarcasm/patronising - couldn't care less about how much you want to sample Hulk's seed.

It's a release clause "being banded about by press" too, as each article has a different quote of what that is - £25m in one paper, £30m in another.

If you read back, I'm answering your questions - I don't know why you think I'm being "misguided/shit attempts at sarcasm/patronising"

Russian clubs are gonna have to sell lots of players, there is no money in the country at the moment.

Doumbia for £12-15M would be a great piece of business.

Good time to buy from Russian clubs the exchange rate is very much in our favour atm.

They wouldn't value or sell their players in rubles

Although that's true, it would enable them to theoretically get closer to their valuation (in Rubles) with, for example, us getting closer to what we'd want to pay. Everyone's a winner.

Except maybe the Russian economy. But still.........

i'm not sure that is his real age...

agree that he is a quality striker though and certainly doesnt play like the 40 year old he looks.

To be fair, there's plenty of British players who looked rough as toast in their mid to late 20's

Gary Mac is one...

Also, Eriksen looks a few years older than 22

I'd like to toss Diego Costa's ugmug into the ring. Always thought he looked 10 years older than he is and as though he got caught somewhere near the middle of the human evolution chart.
