Are people actually seriously talking about us making a bid for Rooney.

Im sorry but even if we were Champion League regulars he would be out of our league. There are 3 clubs in the world that would be able to tempt Rooney... One he is at (leaving), the other cant afford him (Barca) and the other is Madrid.

If they dont want him then he is in trouble IMO, I have no idea who he thinks he is but if Madrid and Barca dont want him or cant afford him then anywhere is a step down.

If he went to City it would be a disgrace.

Anyways...I would much rather have VdV ; )

you never know with levy and harry...they may just pull this off. If we show enough ambitious we may be able to persuade him to join.

The balance of power in football is a-changing.

Shitty and Everton are now the major clubs in their cities.

He's defo off to City for an absolute astronomical fee. His wages will be about 300k per week!!

What the hell you on about? Citeh have to get about another 15 league titles, same for Everton. There maybe new clubs flying high, but its still early days.

The thought of Rooney joining us is laughable, bordering on delusional.

Rooney wants a move for one reason and one reason alone - MONEY.

He's obviously been brooding about this for some time, at least since the start of the last World Cup tournament.

He will have see Toure getting wages of £220,000 per week and Tevez on over £150,00pw and he'll be thinking 'I'll have some of that'.

I'd be absolutely amazed if he went anywhere else but Man City, where he will earn @ £250,000pw, thus making hime the 1st £1m per month player - his large and insatiable ego will like that.

And, of course, Fergie won't be able to do much about it - come June 2011 Rooney can legally buy out the final year of his contract for the sum of his salary - @ £5m. A fraction of what City will hand him in lieu of a transfer fee.

He won't come to us, however Man Utd, Fergie and the Glazers will have been well and truly rolled over by the scally from Toxteth and his acolytes.

As an England fan I hope this is sorted out sooner rather than later in the hope he regains some sort of form.

On topic, in fantasy land, hell yeah.
In reality, we'd just embarrass ourselves if we bid

More tongue and cheek than anything! Not an absolute hope and the obvious factor in all this is that Rooney and his agent have offers on the table for him - they know pretty much where he is going at this stage, and it aint Tottenham.

If he stays in England its City.

Cracking time for us to be playing them next week mind you. Their confidence is well low and they will all still be preoccupied with the Rooney situation.

Giggs will probably be out and all we need now is Nani to get crocked at Stoke!

If Ledley is back by then, fingers crossed, we will have a fantastic chance of beating them if we can apply ourselves mentally. Even without Ledly I give us a decent chance.

Picking up something tomorrow night would be huge for our belief and confidence for the upcoming games.

I love that Harry has declared his interest. It wont happen as Rodney has his eyes on a super pay day, but another sign of he understands this club - when the best become available we will be there.
