I'm sure he's on big wages certainly but if he's looking for 150k a week then that prices out most clubs in Europe. It pretty much leaves City, Chelsea, Real, Barca and maybe an Italian club or two.

Let's put it this way. He certainly won't be taking a paycut and that already puts him out of our league.

Bayern seem to be keeping hold of a few huge name players im sure they could afford him.

Here's an idea, after what Fergie said about it being all sorted by tomorrow, Rooney to Tottenham on loan until January?? Would you?

According to Sky, Fergie is meeting Gill tomorrow morning now, He said the Rooney saga will be swept under the carpet by tomorrow, so either he will offer assurances and a better deal or he will be off somewhere, I can't see Fergie keeping Rooney around if its gonna have a negative impact.

Apparently he can't go to another English club on loan now though.

We should grab him on loan in Jan for six months. I cant see him playing for Man Utd again!

I do wonder if we could tempt him to sign for us, we have a promising squad and he wants to win things, stranger things have happened i guess... Surely the likes of Bale, Van Der Varrt, Modric, Huddlesstone, Lennon, Gomes & Defoe must make us an attractie proposition

Where are my pills?.....

Can't go to a club in the same division, but he could still do a Bellamy and drop down to the Championship

I'm not sure how letting him leave would be sweeping it under the carpet - it would only add to the media frenzy. And I don't know how he could go on loan to another club outside the transfer window.

I'd have Rooney at Spurs. He'd be just what we needed upfront to play off VdV, Modric, Lennon & Bale

Yep me too. He may be a pipe dream, but we never know unless we try, and I'm sure Fergie would rather he went to us than either Citeh or Chelski. It would annihilate our wage structure, but what a coup it would be, a proper statement of intent.

Players like this don't come onto the market that often, and I'd be disappointed if we didn't go balls-out for him.

This, or any future dealings for top-quality players however, should NOT be done at the detriment of our top players, i.e. swapping Rooney for Bale. Utterly pointless exercise.

Honestly though, he'll be wearing the Sky Blue of Citeh in the not too distant future. No one can hope to compete with the fees and wages they can offer.

Peronally I don't get the vilification of Rooney, any of it. He's paid to provide service, which he has indisputably done well enough and in a good spirit. Then, at an interval before the end of his contract which was apparently determined by the Glazers, he asks a few questions about the wider organisation's future and is outlined plans he doesn't want to be a part of. And at that point, what on earth is wrong with him deciding he'd rather play elsewhere? He did not sign his life away to Man Utd, or their fans, and 6 years dedicated service is enough loyalty for anyone with any perspective.

Lulz. Rooney won't leave United for a club like Spurs

Think it'll be Real Madrid myself a front 3 of Rooney, Ronaldo and Higuain :hump: with Alonson, Diarra and Kaka/Oezil just behind... :hump: :hump:

Agree and it was United's decision to go public on all of this. Rooney has simply decided he wants to play for. Club going in the right direction, anyone can see United are going backwards (though I think some are being a little OTT with this).

Rooney has won everything there is to win at United at just 24. Why stick around if they're not likely to do it again any time soon?

I agree with a lot of what you say, it is entirely his choice who he wants to sign his next contract with, but what riles a lot of people is his criticism of his club and team mates. He's effectively said he doesn't think Utd will win anything but it could easily be argued that Manchester United would be top of the table if he had been on form (1 goal in open play since March).

I can see Jose taking him to Real too. And I can see him bringing him back to Und when he replaces Fergie in a few years.

1) This;

2) I can see Mourinho bringing him to the new increased capacity <NAMING RIGHTS> stadium when he replaces 'Arry (you heard it here, first:wink:).

I take your point about the criticism in the statement being the more contentious issue, and so went off to read the thing in full...

http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/rooney-statement-in-full-2111928.html

...and as far as i can tell there's no criticism of their current squad or it's ability to challenge for trophies, and none directed at the club itself as an entity. It's all about the future squad and the transfer policy. The language fits with him being happy with Scholes, Giggs and Ferdnand etc but worried about their replacements. But doesn't support any impications about the current squad, really...

Which means Evra's reanimation of his world cup beserkness...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepag...-United-board-We-dont-trust-Wayne-Rooney.html

...plus 5000 astonishingly angry posts about trechery to teammates and disrespect of the shirt...are all based in a massive excercise of delusional projection ?
