So as it stands we're 2nd after the first three games. We've been involved in 16 goals for and against, we've seen off Twente with only 10 men, we've outplayed Werder and then thrown it away and then been involved in the most bizarre heroic defeat against Inter.

In my mind we've played the two trickiest games away at Inter and Werder, we've got two home games and our easiest away game left and we should now be getting into the swing of the Champions League.

But will we do it? Will we qualify for the knockout stages in the first year we're in the competition? If we do it'll be a fantastic achievement and mission accomplished. If we don't then the focus will be back on the league so that we can have another crack next year.

So....will we do it?

Yes i think we will and 4 more points should do it i reckon.

We have home advantage in two of our last 3 games, it's not impossible that we could get a point against inter at home then focus on beating Bremmen.

Yes, we'll pick up at least 6 points, hopefully 7 (adding a draw with Inter). No problem.

I think we can do it.

Sometimes it is just our virginal naivety that lets us down against the hardcore CL teams who have so much experience down the years in this comp.

Onward and upward !

i think we'll get a draw at the very least against Inter back at the lane.
That will put us in a great position.
Its in our hands - but seeing the way we go at teams - how many teams are gonna stop us scoring in europe? If we can just sort the defence out......

We're in a very good position to get through, it's a real shame we couldn't hold our lead (or crouch didn't score his one on one) against Bremen.

As of now though I'd say we are favourites to take the second spot, which would be a remarkable achievement.

What we need is to retain our CL position, we need to get back into the top four and a win against Everton will be vital for that (no champions league away game hangover can be afforded on sat afternoon)

have to beat werder at home, and ideally at least draw against Inter so they still have something to play for against the other 2. think that should see us through

when the groups where drawn i must admit i thought we'd get third but it'd be a close one between us, bremen and twente for 2nd to 4th but we have shown in patches what we're capable off and i genuinely believe that if we dont start like a rabbit in the headlights like we did last night that we can get something at home against inter and if we do that a win against either bremen or twente in the last 2 games would mean we finish on 8 points which i reckon would be enough to qualify

We can do it. 6 points from 9 should be enough, and I think we can achieve that against Bremen at home and Twente away.

We'll have a good go at Inter at home, and who knows what that will produce.

Can we do it? Of course. But IMO it's not going to be easy.
So................In the light of so many people voting yes and just to be contrary I voted no.

When I saw that 1 vote for no I sensed it was you

I actually think we'll beat Inter at the Lane. With the crowd behind us, with VdV in the team, maybe with Ledley back I think we can and will do it.

After that we'd probably qualify with 2 points from the remaining games.

Maybe.

Yes, we learnt from that game last night, in fact we learnt during that game last night, take that plus eleven men plus return of VDV I really can see us beating them at home.

We need to beat Werder Bremen at home, then hopefully we will be OK.

The way I see it, us, Bremen & Twente are pretty level. The result between Twente & Bremen was perfect for us. Just need to get some kind of result in our home matches (draw with inter & a win agianst Bremen) and we'll be through!!!

all to play for....YES we can do it....

but then the real fun begins, if we defend like lastnite, we will be fooked against the likes of Barca..we must learn that we can't be so open against the very best teams.

our back 4 were far too high up the pitch...in the first 60 secs:bang:

If we beat Werder and Twente we are through. And tbh, if we don't win those two games we wont have deserved it, really. I also feel we could get something from Inter home, and given the form of Werder in particular I think just 4 points from the remaining three could be enough - as long as we beat them at the Lane..

I'm sure that we will make it but, as it is Spurs, I would not rule out some serious nail biting!
