The fans got AVB sacked. There's no doubt in my mind. And in doing so blew what was a great opportunity we had in having AVB as boss. Can't see the wood for the trees.

NO NO NO NEIN NON NIET ETC

AVB got AVB sacked, by turning a good attacking football team into an absolute pile of monkey turd

Sherwood has been in charge for 2 full days. 1 training session I believe. You guys expected us to be fantastic and right all the wrongs in the span of 48-72 hours? Jesus, our fans are just as delusional as the ones we often like to ridicule. Get a fucking grip.

Ok what's the wood in having AVB as boss?? I didn't see it fuck me I wanted to see it..... All I seen was trees, 10 of them every game standing there?? What was it about AVB that he did't manage to show me? This isn't trying to start a fight it's a genuine question.

Bugger off with your moving the goalposts argument. I was discussing individual bad results / witnessing embarrassing football.

Don't make me unleash the George Graham and Ramos stats on you.

Just out of curiosity, what's your view on the Redknapp sacking? Because if ever there's a case of being careful what you wish for, its that.

Who do you think we are? Barcelona, Bayern Munich? It's funny because what pisses me off about Spurs fans - you're exhibit A.

You're on fire tonight. Theres probably 16 other teams in the league who played better football than AVBs spurs!!! Fuck me, anyone wouldve though we were losing these games 6-5 and 5-4, rather than to nil with ZERO SHOTS ON TARGET

I find it more worrying that the people think Sherwood is automatically a 442 man because he is english. No one complained last season when bale and Ade were playing in a 442

I think Rose and Adebayor were planned subs due to lack of fitness, and then Townsend got injured...

It became scrappy, but I don't think it was a 'lottery' really, this wasn't Redknapp-football at its most notorious. It wasn't end to end and them cutting through us as much as we got through them, despite the weak looking midfield (though, we are lacking options, Sigurdsson was a strange one). All they did was punt it long, they didn't have a sniff before that, and we didn't challenge for it and that's where the problems came from. You'd expect even our patched up defence to put up a better showing than they did.

Sherwood also praised Adebayor after he scored in his first start of the season.

The Togo striker – who has not even been training with Tottenham's first-team at times in this campaign – volleyed home a Jermain Defoe cross to score his first Spurs goal since May.

"I think he did very well," he added.

"The unfortunate thing is that him and Danny Rose had to come off the field because (if I left them on) it would risk their fitness for a few weeks.

"I tried to drag it out as long as I could."

Er... seriously?

No-one "got him sacked". Daniel Levy sacked him. He made a decision based on our results, form and where he felt the future was going.

I disagree with the sacking, but if for one minute anyone believes Daniel Levy is the sort of man to bay to pressure from fans then they are seriously deluded.

Agree it's clear he went 4-4-2 because it's a standard tactic with clear roles, he had no time to do much else.

Zip it Shrimpies!!

Does anyone want a snickers as your all getting a bit Joan Collins.

As much as I liked AVB looking at the hefty scorelines we have been hit for, and our deepening defensive crisis, I fear we would have had a few more scores without him being moved on.

Sherwood may not be the long term manager, he may well be, but its got to be more exciting to watch than what we have had recently? I have been harrumphing and i only watch on tv!

I don't know about you lot but i swear i seen a through ball tonight...

Not for one moment did I expect a miracle.

Injuries or not, the formation was suicidal.

Dembele has been off the pace big time recently and always looks knackered. Pairing him with Sig who is in no way shape or form a central midfielder was ridiculous.

Why or why did Defoe start/stay on ... yes he produced the cross for the goal but his finishing was abysmal and he was offside every bloody time we played the ball to him.

We should have stuck with 3 central midfielders and possibly played Fryers at centre back and pushed Capoue back up into central midfield.

Another attempt to derail the response to a specific point. If you want to ask me another unrelated question then start a separate thread and initiate a Q&A session with me.

Thanks.

Just kidding.

I don't know where you're going with this but my view on the Redknapp sacking was that part of me was pretty miffed by it all but the other part was relieved because of how the fans were acting on that situation too.

Do you really think so? In fact, it's obvious from the article by his chum in the Telegraph and the ITK we've had that it was fuck all to do with the fans, a bit to do with the football, and a great deal to do with the fact that he'd gone into full-scale raving paranoia mode, claiming that the club wasn't backing him despite having nearly £160m spent on players.

You know who you are:

You got everything you wanted: AVB gone, fast pace, open play, Adebayor in and two up front.

Are you happy NOW?

What next? Burn down the Lane? Sack all the players? Maybe next time you'll THINK before opening your mouths at least!

Gave you an Informative, just to complete the clean sweep of ratings.

Yeah, I've stated I think he will play the 4-4-2 for now just because I think he will put out there what Levy wants and that's his highest earners on the pitch. A lot of things on Twitter right now are calling for Levy to speak out, and I can't argue against that. I'm more worried about Levy and how he's handling this club right now (not so much over the years as I view his reign on the whole as pretty successful but basically what's going on right now)

I can't really get upset at Sherwood. He's only keeping this job if he really makes us challengers for Top 4 and we do some special things. And, for a first time manager I don't think that's reasonable. Which is why I look to our 'fearless leader' Levy to help give us some hope. Instead, he sits in silence and the only glimpses we get of him is peering at our players on the pitch through the television.
