you under estimate Bell, if there was anyone i would have wanted in at the moment it would have been Bell. Most of the others always try for the big shots, but Bell has played him self in and can stay around if needed.

Its when we need to to play the big innings of scoring fast i dont rate him at

It's totally ours to lose now, these two have hardly looked in any real trouble, and there is no new ball to come either, maybe a bit of reverse swing to deal with but like Son_Of said, get through 10 overs and we should be looking good.

This SA team are not really that good are they? Considering they were number 1 in the world not long ago.

You might be right about Bell Chris, he does tend to give his wicket easily though trying to make the perfect shot. He has worked through today though very well, though we were probably lucky that he didn't face Steyn too much during his wonderful spell; Collingwood was lucky himself that he didn't nick any of those unplayable balls.

Prior just out now. England 278-7 with 10 overs left. Could be a very interesting end to the test if South Africa get a quick wicket.

Broad escapes a close call. I thought it was out myself but it wasn't conclusive either way so they couldn't change the call on the pitch.

Two more wickets fall. Bell and Broad. South Africa need one more in 2.5 overs

Not looking good now. Onions and Swann for 17 balls. Just hope Swann can get on strike.

Cricinfo has never been so exciting, I was getting rather wound up when it wouldn't reload with two balls to go!

Top effort again, although we can't keep relying on the lower order to hold on when the pressure is high.

Glad to be wrong about the result and Bell, but England do love the brinkmanship don't they? It has been three tests- two in SA and Cardiff- where we have got ourselves into this situation. We were in the opposite situation in one of the Tests (Edgbaston?) in 2005 but even in that one, the Aussies were close to winning themselves.

We can be grateful that the new referral system saved Collingwood and that he was not out earlier to the amazing Steyn, but he and Bell were terrific. By post tea, I thought it was over only to come down to see Broad out and then Bell- the last three overs were what Test cricket is all about- as was the Steyn spell- and why it's the only cricket I care to watch. Terrific stuff.

South Africa played some great cricket with bat and ball in this Test but we hung on and showed more mental strength- just about- then previous England sides have, I just wish we wouldn't get ourselves into that situation; or maybe I enjoy the excitement. My uncle had tickets for all five days and didn't go- massive mistake, looked to be some right fitties there today.

Another example of why test cricket is the most exciting and dramatic form of the game, One dayers and 20-20 doesn't even come close. Also a great example of how a draw is a completely valid result in cricket, sport at it's finest.

Incredible how we managed to come back from those 3 wickets last night that most peopel believed to be terminal. Excellent stuff.
