Real cricket, aka Test cricket, is back. First test starting this morning, how confident are people? It is going to be tough and as ever we may have problems getting ten wickets. I hope then that Strauss goes for five bowlers as in terms of batting we are quite strong if Strauss, Prior and Trott keep up their form, KP gets back his best, Cook returns to form and Broad and Swann can get a few.

I have a feeling it will be 1-1 in the series. I'll put my head on the block!

Apparently Kallis won't bowl which is something, but in Steyn, Morkel and N'tini they have three top class bowlers. Their batting lineup is pretty impressive too, Amla and Prince I especially like.

SS1 from 8am.

55-2

Broad got Smith caught behind for a duck in the 2nd over and Onions has just got Amla out caught by Collingwood in the 21st over.

Looking good so far

Greetings RB. I am not alone then! Hopefully the usual cricket enthusiasts will join soon. BO is probably cheering on the Aussies against WI. Trying to study but keeping one eye on the match. Onions and Anderson seem to be bowling a very good line, think there has been a couple of lbw decisions when it has been a tad short. We have got out two of their best and Kallis is struggling with an injury so should look to get him soon. Maybe put Swann on for a bit before lunch.

I'm trying to work and keep up to date via the sky sports website. I saw that Prince was out LBW until he refferred it. Bastard  Anderson seems to be quite econoimical at the moment, lets hope he keeps it up.

I'm sure BO will join us at some point to instill his wisdom.

Yea it was going over the wickets, Prince is small but he jumped and it hit him high up so I am surprised the umpire gave it.

Ah. Test Cricket. Since I am working from home there is no reason why I can't just watch the cricket in the background. Good stuff.

Seems England have had a very promising start, which is exactly what they needed as this will undoubtedly be a bigger test than the Ashes. They will have to perform at the very best of their abilities which wasn't always the case in that series.

Swanny coming in.

Got him, second ball. Great impact.

Lookes a pretty lazy shot but I was wondering why Swann hadn't come in earlier. 93-3 is a great start though.

Didn't see any of the day's play today but looks quite even- normal service has been resumed with Cook getting a poor score and Strauss getting runs, we have a strong batting lineup so here's hoping we can kick on tomorrow. I would hope both, if not one of KP and Trott will get a good score as we are in SA.

...or not. Where would we be without Swann? Fantastic effort.

Swann has been outstanding. Anderson has done a great job to stay in there with him and has done it with some style as well. If Anderson wasn't able to hang around then Swann wouldn't have been able knock in all these runs. Great effort from the pair of them, putting our top batsmen to shame.

It's going to be an interesting last afternoon. England can still fuck this up and lose but if KP stays there is an outside chance of victory. Unfortunately going for a pub lunch with a cricket mad family so hopefully they will have it on telly.

If KP needed a piss so bad, he didn't need to fuck up our innings.

50-6!

And that's Smith gone. Surely England can't throw this away?
