Yes this is a must win game as we should be finishing well ahead of Southampton this season to help justify Levy's appointment of Poch.
We finished 13 points above them last season with us getting 69 points and them on 56. Since then they had the disruption of losing their manager, having to sell their star players and had everyone predicting them fighting relegation.
We, on the other hand, chose to get rid of the manager who achieved 69 points (not saying we should have kept him) in order to get a new improved one who would get the most out of our 'talented squad of players'.
Southampton have now achieved the same amount of points as last season with 5 games to spare. While we need to win 4 of our last 5 to get to our previous total.
I know its not just about points, but it seems clear which manager and team have noticeably improved from last season and shown that improvement on a consistent basis (rather than a couple of matches) and it's not Spurs.

This is such a short term point of view. No wonder we never give managers time. Fuck sake, stop splitting hairs over short term objectives and be patient.

they're playing alderweireld in midfield.

Guessing it's to break up play. Don't know how well he does there, or if he'll end up being another Phil Jones in midfield. Could be a clever move. Koeman can probably see that our midfield duo are a little lightweight and will try to restrict the service to Eriksen.
