We need all our africans back. Should be possible to win against them. They also miss their best player - Gaston Ramirez.

st mary's isn't the fortress that the dell was, but we are notorious for ending crappy runs of lesser teams. I still think we will scrape a 3-2 win!

I'm not taking any game for granted. We've been so disjointed this season.

I'll be happy with an ugly, scrappy win.

Hmm lots of apprehension in this place - thought you might like a look at how the other side are viewing things :

Gulp!!!

Bale to rip us a new one

Adkins farewell, most likely.

Bale to score but we'll beat then 2-1 keep the faith

If we get five we might get a draw.

We did draw 4-4 and 3-3 with them over the years. The also have a history of absolutely stuffing us from time to time. My old brain can remember scores like 6-0, 6-1, 7-2, 5-1, 5-3 and a few others - and they weren't wins either!

We could really, really get hammered, the must be rubbing their hands with glee...

We will score, but we will also concede lots of goals.

Lennon, Bale, Defoe, Dembele will have an absolute field day. Let's be honest.

They will all need to be off their game, and we will need to learn how to defend in 8 days to have even the slightest chance.

They are in a different universe to us.

Spurs have never scored a goal at St Mary's, but I fully expect that bit of trivia to be smashed to **** next week.

Is this the thread for wet fannies FFS, we'll be fine

Tin hat prepared for after the game

This fixture has ended up in a 1-0 Saints win the last 3 times. Spuds have lost every trip they've made to St Mary's.

Having said that, we will get battered. I'm not a gambler but this does look a bit like easy money.

Spurs are good, better than us obviously, but not as good as Man Utd who we perhaps should have beaten, so there's always hope. If that Norwich side can beat Arsenal, we can beat a big team too.

reading all these comments is like we the city and united games never happened.

we will get a point or three out of this with a last minute goal from mayuka.

No they both happened and we lost both. The Arsenal, Everton and West Ham games also happened. As did Fulham and Villa.

If he is fit, I wouldn't mid seeing Shaw at left back. Our defence can't really get much worse can it?

Wasn't Bale the same age as Shaw when he started playing for Spurs?

Bale had turned 18 when he started actually playing at Spurs (only just) Had a couple of games for us at 16 though I think and
the best part of a season at 17 in the CCC.

Frustratingly Shaw has got injured again, and will miss the England U18 games.

Bale, Adebayor and Dembele rested to face us - oh crud! If we can lose by less than 2 goals that would not be too bad. Need to ditch all this 433 garbage and get 10 behind the ball, Chaplow in the middle with the skipper's armband and get in their faces.

Hit Rickie as early as we can with Mayuka picking up on the second ball. If we try and out-football Spurs I can only conclude that a) our management team are clueless and b) we'll lose by far a margin of far more than 2 goals.

Seriously, I grew up watching Lawrie's teams in the 80s and I'd love for us to play like that in the top flight but we have to face realities and stay in the league first.

Reckon we could sneak a win... Spurs are currently losing to Maribor (Slovenian Team)

Erm that's cos they are resting players to tonk us with.

All saints fans going Sunday, listen to how Spurs sing "go marching in.." and learn, that's how it's supposed to be sung. Not banging on the backboards of the Northam at 100mph!

And on the pitch, we'll get beat 3-1

Or maybe we should sing to drown out Spurs fans? As I don't particularly want to listen to Spurs fans at any time and certainly not on Sunday. I've never really heard Spurs fans sing that much anyway.

I think it is time that AVB started playing his 4-3-3 and get the likes of the wingers up along side Defoe, and push Dembele and Sig further forward. 4-2-3-1 is leaving Defoe too isolated up front as he just can't hold the ball up well enough.
Bale ------- Ade ------- Falque
Dembele --- Sigurdsson
Sandro
Naughton - Jan - Caulker - Walker
Lloris
Subs: Freidel, Dawson, Dempsey, Defoe, Lennon.
Why are you dropping Lennon? Falque bear in mind was a player rejected by several foreign clubs, I highly doubt the Barca and Juve youth set ups missed something we have seen in him. Is this off the back of a vaguely impressive cameo against a Slovenian team?

On the otherhand, Lennon has arguably been our most consistent attacking player this season... Don't understand the problems people have we him atm.

Big game after a week consisting of crushing disappointment and crushing boredom,

It's good to see that even though we've sold Dos Santos we still have Falque for people to fixate on every time he does something remotely okay.

Taarabt, then Dos Santos, now Falque. And of course this was all started by Jose Dominguez.

I may have got away from the point. I think we should probably try and win.

I've seen nothing from Falque to suggest that he's not going to be the next Messi, Pele, and Lucas all rolled into one. In my humble opinion he should be made captain and get a statue erected in place of the golden cockerel. I've already started getting his face tattooed on my back, to go with my Darren Caskey one.

'3-5-2 works when your pressing high against a team who don't have pace outwide. Something Spurs have in ubundanxe. So that's why you are wrong. If you want to discuss further I'm happy to do it over a pint and don't forget to bring your UEFA coaching badges. I'll bring mine'

I legit think that's one of their fans attempting to spell abundance... Horrific.

Fuck me Nigel Adkins is getting a bit combative in the face of adversity isn't he?

In other news I used to live close to Nigel Adkins and his daughter was fit. I have no intel on whether she is still fit.

i don't know what falque has done to hurt your feelings but this is a little harsh.
