With KPB and O'Hara joining Portsmouth I was thinking: "Are we the club which has the most "rejects" currently playing in the Preier League? "

A quick search gave this list:

Luke Young, Dean marney, Pascal Chimbonda, Bobby Zamora, Anthony Gardner, Teemu Tainio, Callum Davenport, Martin Fulop, Steed Malbranque (cry), Darren Bent, Andy Reid, Younes Kaboul, Noe Pamarot, Simon Davies, Sean Davis, Stephen Kelly, Danny Murphy, Paul Robinson, Erik Edman, Matthew Etherington.....any more? (Have to be "rejects" Berba doesnt count...)

Either way..isnt this ALOT of players regularly playing for other PL clubs??

Most of these are doing well for their current clubs and they never was regular starters for us...Did we get rid of them too soon? Not that I would want any of them back (except Steeed ofc), but this must mean we should be a force in the PL right? Is it a healthy sign or not?

I find this a bit disturbing..dont know why though..
Just baffling.

they are doing well for their clubs but how many of them would on current form get in our team? how many are playing for top 5 clubs? As i am bored, ill break it down into positions.....

GK Gomes or Robinson/Fulop
RB Corluka or Chimbonda/L Young/Paramot/Kelly
LB BAE or Edman
CB King/Woodgate/Bassong or Gardner/Davenport/Kaboul
RM Lennon or Davies
LM Modric or Malbranque/Reid/Etherington
CM JJ/Hudd/Palacios or Marney/Tainio/Davis/Murphy
CF Defoe/Keane or Zamora/Bent

They are decent enough players, but none of them would get in our team imo which is why they were moved on!

I like Luke Young and Danny Murphy. They're doing well for their new clubs. I'd much rather have Fulop than Alnwick.

I wondered why it seemed that we were always playing against our old boys. It's because every club has one!

Also add Steven Carr to that list for this weekend. You know, went to play for a bigger club. Yeah, him.

Not in the PL - but Kanoute was alright, albeit frustrating at times.

Spurs rejects XI in the prem:

Robinson
Chimbonda Kaboul Gardner Edman
Davies Murphy Davis Malbranque
Bent Zamora

i.e. nobody who we wanted to keep.

THey are rejects in as far as they were sold due to no longer being required at Spurs.

The poster states the like of Berbatov do not qualify as they were sold dispite still being first team players and inspite of the club not wishing to sell.

We are not a selling club per say and do not need to sell for money, so anyone we choose to sell can consider themselves rejected by the club and qualify for the above 'Spurs Reject XI' (very much including Tainio and Robbo)

Not sure I wouldn't have Luke Young back in preference to Charlie, and Malbranque would be a useful addition to any squad. The rest, on current form, no.

And of course, worth pointing out that three fourths of our current forward line are Spurs rejects, so we can't claim to have made consistently good calls on who we let go.
