GDS has rarely played in the reserves has he? I wouldn't read too much into that and Taarabt has been in the reserve sqaud all season. Does Eddie or anyone know anything about Butcher? The only player I don't know there.

I would say from that it will be
Cesar
Stalteri
Berchiche
Rocha
Dervite
Maghoma
Boateng
Ghaly
Daniels
Taarabt
Olsen

I would think Rednapp wants to see as many of the outcasts in a competitive football game as possible and from what I have seen Maghoma and Daniels have looked bright.

The outcasts are ineligible to play on Thursday as they weren't registered for the UEFA Cup. Players such as Rose & Parrett who could have been on the B list were included in the 'A' squad of 25 so Stalteri, Ghaly, KPB, Rocha & Taraabt weren't included at all

dont think rose and parrett can be on our B list yet, dont they have to go through the full 2 years in our accadomay befor they are classed as home grown and come through our youth? which would explain why they are in the A squad and not the B

Calum Butcher is a great young centre half and is IMO our next most best prospect after Bostock, Parrat and Rose (possibly level with TAH and Adam Smith). Definitely my current favourite youth team player.

He isn't big but is very commanding and has always majorly overshadowed Dervitte when I've seen them play together.

We also have a youth team goalkeeper called Lee Butcher so be careful not to confuse the two.

The exclusion of Danny Rose & John Bostock suggests they may be involved in the UEFA squad for Thursday.

Dervitte probably needs a game. However, if he impresses (which by most accounts he hasn't really managed to do so far this season), he could also get a place on the bench given our distinct lack of defenders in the UEFA Cup squad (Corluka cup-tied, Rocha & Stalteri not registered for UEFA).

Is should add that I've only seen him once or twice before, but Lee Butcher has looked very poor on those occasions (in one game he shipped 5 or 6 I think and should have done better with most of them). With Alnwick, Button and Jansson ahead of him I doubt he has a future at the club tbh.

Actually I would have thought that it means they've been dropped down to the academy side again because of the return to the reserves of the senior players.

Dervitte has not quite been the same since his injury and though he has attributes (in the air and his distribution) his positioning is generally poor. I would have thought TAH would be recalled ahead of him and others like Zokora and Huddlestone used at CB first.

Wouldn't mind if they made the bench on Thursday at all.

However, Bostock play 70 mins for the Academy 11 on Saturday so I reckon that's why he's not involved tonight.

Therefore I doubt Bostock will make the bench for Thursday

But Rose very well could make the bench as we've only the two senior strikers available (Bent/Campbell) in the Uefa Cup

Danny Rose wasn't in the Academy team which won 6-0 on Saturday.

In fact, with wide players like Townsend & M'potu (and Parrett having played on the flanks), there's no real need to stick a player like Rose in the youth team. Plus of course Rose is a year older than most of this season's Academy stalwarts, and has played a lot for England U18s this year (Bostock is in the U17s). But you're correct that he is still eligible for the Academy.

Except as an SC member who watches Norwich told us, poor ole Troy is something like sixth choice CB at Norwich, and Roeder was playing FBs at CB ahead of him. :bang:

Spurs 2-0 (Daniels beats two men, gets into box and drills it into bottom left-hand corner)

Taarabt & Rocha taken off at half-time. :eek:mg:

And we're not saving them for UEFA because neither are eligible...
