Ghaly has said he's been told he won't play for us again. However, that may have been by someone who may be out of favour right now...

Ramos should revisit the stregths of his peripheral squad and maybe, just maybe unearth another O'Hare type freebie.

i would like to see all 3 of these players given a chance
they could hardly do worse than the ones that have played already

Absolutely. Give some of the Ressies a go. Are there any promising strikers in there atm? And while we're at it, drop some of the underperforming first teamadonners to the second team. A kick up the jacksie and a swift reality check might focus their less than focused minds.

Although not a freebie, Bostock would be a good option to introduce IMO.

Well, if we start with the "Ghaly our saviour" thing, we're pretty much relegated already. We can't depend on one player, specially him. He has got passion and is a decent player, but he went last year to Derby and they still got relegated (and on the fast way), despite his "fire" in the middle.

On the other hand, if we add him and Hutton, plus maybe a player like McKenna in the "O'hara" way and Bostock in the "Taarabt from last season" way, we might actually not only save our asses this season but actually build on a better squad for next season. Oh, and a striker please. I would recall Pekhart from loan tomorrow morning to compete for the position with our glassy target man from Moscow. It might bring out the best out of both.

Interesting, on the one hand there's supporters moaning about there being too many changes to the team week in week out so that there's no consistency, on the other there are people wanting to bring other players in like Ghaly, Bostock, KPB etc.

As for the Ghaly debate, I'd rather see Taarabt come in and play in a maverick number 10 role behind a Bent / Pav striker, than see Ghaly return.

Reserve players who show aptitude have to know that it's a meritocracy and I've always liked Ghaly , reckon he's got a rough deal and should be part of the squad .

If you've ever been on a project which hits difficulties you will know that many quarters start panicking , clutching at straws and think the answer is to try this , try that , try him ....

If you are one of the small minority who knows what they are doing (and in my area of management of data it is a small minority) it is very frustrating .

9 times out of 10 the answer is to hold your nerve , just as Ray Clemence has said today .

I don't see Ghaly (or Bostock for that matter) as the answer at this stage as they both play in midfield roles that we have pretty well filled at the moment.

Eddie's calls are interesting. From what I know, McKenna is still making his way back from injury so would be a risk. He did used to have a very good central midfield relationship with O'Hara for the reserves though. Daniels is just back from loan at Gillingham where he played left-wing (although he played left-back more often than not during his loan at Leyton Orient last season). He had good reports at Gillingham and scored one in five appearances. May be a good option for the bench (ahead of Assou-Ekotto and Gilberto) due to his ability to cover both of those left-sided positions.

Lets be truthful here.

It cannot be any worse.

Recall all of them into the squad please, but doubtful it will happen.

ghaly could give the ball away cheaply at times but the through balls he used to supply keane, berba & defoe with were second to none plus he also had the ability to beat players like they was'nt there.

at this moment in time he is still a spurs player and in the current mess we are in if he does play well tonight against pompey and ramos calls him up he cant be any worse than the crap we have witnesed so far as long as he played him in his prefered postion in centre mid

Ghaly should play in central midfield against Stoke. He can put his foot in and can create. Jol pissed him off and he apologised. . . Yes he's a bit of a prick, but most good players these days are pricks. Having nice lads like Bent, Hudd, JJ and Zokora in the team has hardly set the world alight

Lets not get carried away with the Ghaly back-slapping - remember, seconds before he chucked the shirt on the floor he was being subbed because he was having a really, really, really shit game. In fact, from off the top of my head, i can only think of two games where i saw anything in him that indicated he had the attitude and the concentration to succeed.

He's rash, glory-hunting and is way less skilful than he thinks he is BUT i did admire his passion, even if it was a little misplaced.

He's by no means the answer to our problems, but then again i had Teemu & Steed down as integral parts of our team this year, so who cares what i think?

Yes, if he's showing good form, working hard and actually looking like he could play in a role which holds so much responsibility then give him a go. Live with the knowledge though that, considering our current trend of over-hyping players to keep our chins up, if he fails then that will be all she wrote.

His only option is to keep his head down, work with the ressies and the coaches, prove he has something we lack in the first team and just get on with it. Ignore the boos but at the same time acknowledge that he's coming back on minus points with the fans - the only way he can win them back is to play his little curly face off, apply a determination unseen by human eyes since Ricky Villa jinked left, then right, then left again and cemented his name as the end of a leg.

There's one forum member (Guynaisse?) who actually knows him and reckons he's still getting back to what he was before his injury.
