I think our midfield is set. It'll be Bentaleb, Dembele, Dier, Wanyama and probably Mason sprinkled in. I would have preferred Mason and Carroll sold to fund a move for a creative CM that could also move up the pitch a tad into the position behind Kane, too.

I hope not.

Like you say we need a creative AM. Somebody that can drop a shoulder and take on a player to open things up.

We don't have anybody like that.

We do actually ;)

Who?

We don't have a Coutinho, Hazard, Mahrez type.

And don't tell me Lamela can beat a player.

We have such a talented squad but I do feel we are missing that type of player. A striker and forward player with guile, intelligence and skill would round of the squad nicely IMO.

In AM we have Pritchard who can do that and in CM Onomah and Winks (to a degree). In CM we have 4 quality players in Dier, Dembele, Wanyama and Bentaleb, so WInks and/or Onomah are fine as 5th choice (and that's if we sell Mason and Carroll).

I agree that Pritchard could step up to be that player. Onomah could continue to progress but Winks isn't that type of player I'm referring to.

With all due respect to Onomah and Pritchard (who I am big fans of), we are just about to head into such a competitive season with everybody strengthening like never before. If we spend £11m on Wanyama and a reported £17m + on Janssen, I would love us to try and buy that established article that could provide that intelligence that we lack on occasions. A Boufal. A Insigne.

Sorry, I misunderstood they player type you meant, I thought you just meant a player that can quickly turn a player in the middle of the pitch to open things up, like Modric use to, but if you mean a player that can dribble through a crowed area, then I agree, we should sign a player like Boufal, as I don't think Pritchard could do that either. Wanyama, Janssen and Boufal would be an excellent transfer window IMO.

I hope so but I've yet to see proof that Bentaleb can fill in for Dembele.

Yet we know that Bentaleb is more than adequate to play in our midfield, we saw that in 2014/15 season...and we've seen that the boy has very high potential as well.

I think we have more than enough cover there and a very good balance in midfield too.

Just being pedantic but Coutinho is not all that creative.

Here's a player that has impressed me greatly at the 2016 Euros: Bartosz Kapustka. Plays for Cracovia and the Poland national team. Listed as a centre-midfielder but I believe could also play the wide attacker role. He's 19 years-old and scored 4 goals in 33 games for his club in 2015-2016. Not a great scorer but a player with great potential and self-confidence in my opinion.

Here's a YouTube link:

Tottenham Hotspur have now established a reputation for developing young players and this one could be a great addition to the Spurs' family. In view of the club he plays for and his age - I'd expect that the money required to acquire would not be unreasonable.

Anyone else regard him highly? Or not?
