Why does everyone keep mentioning price like its there money? I don't care what a player costs as long as they are quality and we get them! We may spend 20 mill on Berahino and another 20 mill on a midfielder. Or we may spend 15 mill on Berahino and buy no one else. It's about the quality you have in your squad, not how much you buy them for
The problem is that even though we are talking about the money that the club operates with and can dissociate it from ticket costs etc (our money), if the club was to spend too much on fees and salaries then we risk doing a Leeds/Rangers/Portsmouth. Take your pick. One indisputable thing that has been consistently very good from Levy has been the financial stewardship of our club. Allowing us to get to the point where we have one of the best training grounds in the world and are just about to spend 3/4 of a billion pounds sterling on a new development project for Tottenham, where we will get the best, most modern stadium in the world.
It is not as if we have not spent in the market big over the last few seasons, sometime wisely or not. We have a brilliant young manager who already deserves a really big contract renewal if you ask me, with a huge release clause. The team is purring like a well oiled high performance engine and we are revving up to a consistent level of performance.
It may not be "our" money, but I would rather Spurs spent well. To do other risks the club.
