Great 4-1 win vs Barnet happy to score 2 goals which makes it 17 for me.

Reo Griffiths doing it again for Spurs u16's

I'm guessing that Spurs u18's will be in US by now preparing for the IMG Cup in Florida (which we won last year) - first game on 16thj

Posted on COYS by member called Topyid and it's probably more relevent in here than the ITK thread:

"Bit of ITK. Dont know if he's any good or anything about him. Shillow Tracey going America with I presume the youth team tomorrow for final trial before deciding to buy him or not. Apparently a few decent clubs after him"

So we could be seeing him soon, assuming he's allowed to play

Will the 18s games be streamed by any chance?

Bit of an odd one about academy poaching: http://www.theguardian.com/football...-united-amnesty-clubs-poaching-premier-league

Any ideas which players we're thought to have lost? Or would this be at an uber young age group?

It's hard to know what is acceptable and unacceptable. I assume poaching would be one player moving from a big club to another richer one. We have recruited Mehmeti from Fulham, Mandeki (above) from Palace and of course Thorpe from Cambridge. Each player would have been the best at their club or age group. I know we got Cambridge's blessing but I don't know about the other two, and I don't know how you sign a young player. I think they sign contracts every two years so maybe we just waited and offered them contracts after their two years. So would that classify us as poaching their players. Similarly Leyton Orient lost Sterling and Hind to us and Arsenal respectively, but judging by the fact Orient promote when they get called up it seems that there was no ill feeling there.

In terms of us being poached, I don't know the time frames but I know Eyoma and Boadu both used to be in the Harrison, Onomah age group and went to Arsenal. I assumed we would have not let them go if we wanted to keep them however they may have been two cases where Arsenal could have offered more money. I know Boadu is a very good player but don't know so much on Eyoma.

I know in the u14/15 age group some of our players have gone to QPR, Palace and West Ham but they would have been released. As I doubt a smaller club could poach one of our players, but I heard recently an u15 of ours Bayli Spencer-Adams went to Arsenal. Again did we release him or was he poached it's hard to know.

Just to add to @IGSpur excellent post on the subject, youngsters cannot sign a binding professional contract until age 17, but between the ages of 9 (?) and 16 they can sign schoolboy forms for either one or two years which then means the club undertakes to provide training facilities to the boy (maybe 3 evenings a week and a weekend day) - and the boy joins the academy. The number of boys which the academy can take on is strictly limited - think its 30 at age 9 and reduces to 15 by age 16, so places are very highly sought after at all clubs. Many clubs organise training for under 9's as well.

At the end of the one or two year schoolboy forms, the club will offer to extend the forms for another year or two - or sometimes not. If the boy is not re-signed then the boy can find another club.

At the age of 16 players can be offered a 2 year scholarship to join the Academy on a full time basis - Year 1 and Year 2 are the age groups which compete as under 18's

I think the 'poaching' bit comes when a club offers to re-new schoollboy forms but the boy says he wants to join a different club - if its for a good reason (eg less travelling time or a brother is also at that club) its likely to be a harmonious change but otherwise may be seen as poaching.

Under EPPP (Elite Players Performance Plan) a payment is made upon changing clubs at a ypung age but the scheme has very low payments https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elite_Player_Performance_Plan so from age 12 to 16 its £40,000 (for Spurs as a Category one Academy) per year of attendance at Spurs academy, but as low as £12,500 for the lower training categories (there are additional payments if they've made a first team appearance),

So if a top talent, maybe who is aged 15 having represented England at youth level and might be one of the top 3 or 4 in his age group at a good PL club or the best at a small club, the thought of losing the player for a sum which would be under £100,000 for a small club and under £200,000 even at a big club is not attractive when if the lad were to stay at the big club they might make their PL debut within 3 years and be worth a £1m+.

However it can be difficult to differentiate between poaching and a boy's desire to change clubs *maybe he has more mates at that other club), although where a boy's family is offered a new house or family members offered jobs its clearly poaching - but maybe difficult to prove.

Worth pointing out that since Thorpe joined Spurs at u14 a Spurs X1 have played Cambridge (generating a nice pre-season match for Cambridge) and a Spurs u15 side has played Cambridge equivalent, so there are good ways whereby a lad can move from a smaller club to a big club, if both clubs want to make it freindly

Wasn't sure, had a look and thought they looked similar, also two Eyoma's being at one club is too coincidental. But just had a quick search on the net

Just found TJ's brother on instagram and in this pic Aaron Eyoma from Arsenal is in it on the right, so I think it's safe to assume that they are.

Yes according to the Clissold Rangers website http://www.clissoldrangers.com/clis...gramme Middle Double Page Spread FINAL V2.pdf Timothy Joel Eyoma is the younger brother of Aaron Eyoma.

Charlie Owens and Will Miller also played for Clissold Rangers.
