I'm not sure he does enough consistently when he has the ball. Also I don't think his defensive work is good enough although that can be worked on.

I generally just feel he isn't sharp enough overall for the level we require although I have no doubt he could turn it on once in a while.

I'd compare him to azzaoui who would imo would give much better return per possession and generally a livelier performance

Sounds like he will fit right in then :)

Oduwa and Shaq though are lucky there might be better more highly regarded players but they have massive advantages cause there is not so much in front of them so they will get chances.

I don't really agree with any of this - Nathan's biggest issue is probably being too laid back which is why the loan to Luton would have helped him - he has pace to burn and has the unusual ability to be able to stop and go again and has terrific pace from a standing start . His final ball can be lacking but there aren't many wingers whose isn't and when he does deliver it gets results. He needs to work on his left foot, which he is capable with, but he just doesn't trust it and though inevitably he will always favour his right as he progresses he will need that as another option

Consistency wise not many young players have that, but he has the raw attributes to become a very exciting player. I think he needs to be channelled as a more central player I think you would get more out of him that way. Defensively he is ok he is generally aware of his responsibilities. but that's part of learning the game and he has improved a lot in that area

I think atm he compares very favourably with Azzoui who though is two years younger. I think Nathan will add something to the first team when gets an opportunity he has pace - directness and he has some real ability. I think he needs to believe in himself to achieve that, but the raw product is very much there imo

one thing i should say about azzaoui yesterday is that he showed far more aggression in his play, too many times i've seen him previously get knocked off the ball and not put up too much of a fight to win it back but yesterday he showed a competitive streak i haven't seen from him before. i think playing at a lower level would benefit him in the future.

I'd agree with the consistency with the ball comment but as you said what winger, especially a young one. isn't somewhat inconsistent. I think that he would do decently central too, like upfront but behind the striker like he played for England I can imagine he'd get really involved and be disruptive with his hold up play and skill. As I mentioned too he is also a decent link up player around the box. I think his left foot his good enough for him to be quite unpredictable as to whether he will go down the right or left which I think is another positive for him and I have seen him track back and try to put in a shift, if anything that is how going to Luton would have benefitted him. Seeing how much it meant to his fellow Luton players would have shown him why he needs to work.

Think he will be a very good option in the EL this season.

His workrate has never been an issue for me though it sounds like he has upped it which isa really good sign For me my only issue has been not putting in the challenges or pulling out, or staying down, after a tackle. That kind of thing.

Playing at a lower level would be interesting. He'd get lumps kicked out of him with his style haha

He does get kicked a lot and picks up a lot of knocks,he always has a strapped ankle of knee when playing from a knock he must of got from the previous game.

But so did CCV.

What was the time frame between the quarters and the finals? Milos proably got a minimum of an extra week off for going further and playing more minutes and maybe a day or so extra as a reward for winning it

Can Oduwa offer as much as mosses short term and can he be a far better player long term? Is more the question I hope the club start asking these questions for to long our academy and our first team have been to different entities.
5 goals and 5 assists in 3 seasons (3300 mins), yes, I think Oduwa can offer that and more.

There's a quote from a COYS poster saying the same thing in the itk thread and Onomah 's player thread in transfer rumors section

Who is @chelseayouth
He is the Chelsea version of WindyCoys over on Twitter. Although obviously a Chelsea fan, and therefore often very irritating, he's well informed on youth football in general.

Yay! New thread! Thanks to everyone that makes this thread the best on SC.

Good news about Onomah(if it's true). Now just have to get Edwards sorted.

knock on wood but apparently edwards has signed a pre contract meaning when he turns 17 in December he'll be on a professional contract, so well done to the club
