Quite possibly, but Zokora was a completely different player in the second half—again.

Agreed. He's better when he's playing deeper - eg his starting position is effectively CB, but he can step up, attack the ball and pass simply.

But as Earle and Townsend highlighted at half-time, Zokora's total failure to attack the ball - freezing like the proverbial rabbit in the headlights - was responsible for their first goal, and partly for their second.

Ramos must be tearing his hair out. Why can Zokora make the right decisions, step up and attack the ball at CB, and freeze when he's playing at CM??????

Hehe - The Prince has obviously enrolled at the Didier Zokora Academy Of Shooting.

But lovely stuff from Hudd and Zokora in the second half. Zokora looked like he knew his job and was determined to stick to it. Some promising moments from Boateng too.

First half Dawson seemed to think he was Ramon Vega, and he was only maringally better in the second half. Zokora was much better in the second half as well. Kudos to Ramos for having the tactical nous to pull off that re-jig and double substitution at half time. Was disappointed again today with Keane, just didn't do nearly enough. Pleased for Bent and Berba to score, and think they should start against Brum.

Huddlestone and Boateng with decent cameos as well, I think the Prince could be a good player for us.

I agree, I'd like to he him and JJ (if fit) start on Sunday.

I think a way forward in the future for us could be a midfield 3 of Boateng - Jenas - Hudd

Jenas for me was definately our best player until he was taken off because he was injured. With him playing as he has done for the last few games we desperately need to find a decent CM partner for him as again Zokora was useless in the first half playing a CM and then when moved back to play as CB really improved in the second half.

It looks to me as if Juande has the same problem as Martin with regard to Zokora. For the second game in succession he's been pants as a CM, and impressive as an emergency CB (or deep-lying DM, we could argue over the exact terminology like medieval theologians arguing over angels on pinheads).

I thought Prince Bong did well, barring his comedy shot at the corner flag. Very unfortunate to get a yellow for an aggressive but absolutely clean tackle. And are some of us starting to see why Bent commanded such an apparently absurd fee?

When you look at his stats this season, they look pretty decent

GS 6, SB 9, G 4, A 3.

GS: Games started, SB: Used as Substitute, G: Goals, A: Assists

Maybe if he is given a run in the side he will show the doubters up even more.

That could be alot more feasble after Xmas if we sell Defoe or Berbs. I don't think we can reallistically play 3 or 5 at the back, so starting with 3 in Cm means 433/451 and therefore only 1 striker. Trying to keep a happy squad with 4 top quality strikers fighting for 1 spot would be very hard.

I agree SS57. Bent looked very good. If he improves his first touch he could be a very decent player. His playing style vaguely reminds me of Henry. How odd is that?!

My special praise has to go to Steed - he was great tonight, and got a little pat or the back from JD after sliding to block a clearance.

It was the proverbial game of 2 halves. Cacking myself at H/t and joyous at the end

He gets in the right places in the box. And I can think of certain strikers who would have blasted that cross as hard as they could rather than just sidefooting it in. His play and pass for Malbranque at the death was top-drawer. Shame Steed went for Row Z.

Bent has actually got a better minutes per goal ratio for us, than he had in his previous 2 seasons at Charlton, where he was top English striker in the Prem both seasons. His minutes per goal ratio this season is the best of our strikers.
