I was with a gooner mate on Saturday evening (I know, I feel dirty even saying it) and when conversation inevitably turned to football he came out with the line that Arsenal were massively over achieving given how much they've spent over the last 5 years whilst Spurs were under achieving because they'de spend so much more. After resisting the urge to punch him straight in the face I replied that it's nett spend which is the important figure and that given our turnover compared to Arsenal we were doing well to be competing with them at all. Obviously I didn't know the figures at the time, so having just looked them up to make sure I was right, I thought I'd share them with you so you can also tell you're gooner mates to go do one.

Now admittedly Arsenal are below us, but only just, and they're certainly not far enough behind us so that we'd have any sort of advantage over them.

P.S. Stoke?!?! WTF!

P.P.S. There's obviously wages to add to the equation but it's not shown on this table. Don't bother asking about wages because I haven't got that info and if you do ask I'll assume that it's some sort of homosexual code that you want to have sex with the person who posted above you. You have been warned :p

Very interesting. How are stoke even operating? They must be in big trouble if they are relegated

You've got to look at wages though as well, that's key.

Arsenal spend more than us on wages, so we'd be below them for the same time frame if you factored wages into it.

Owned by the guy that founded Bet365 who is Stoke born-and-bred, think he just gifts them a lot of his fortune iirc.

Nobody but Woolwich made Woolwich build The Emirates.

They should stop whining about their petty fucking finances, stop drawing down all those directors
bonuses and expenses etc.... And get on with it.

Not sure if anyone's mentioned wages :cautious: but as of last season Arsenal were estimated at £150m and we were at £90m, so well over 1 1/2 times more than us and wipes out the difference in net transfer spend in the OPs table in a couple of weeks.

That is where we struggle to compete with the rest of the teams competing for top 4.

So when I get teased by Arsenal mates when we have failed to qualify for the CL yet again and Arsenal qualify for the 17th time in a row, I can tease them about just being below us on the net spend table...
Great. :meh:

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this but Arsenal pay alot more wages,

Arsenal fans want Wenger out because he is the 2nd highest paid manager in the league and 4th highest in the world. Before Ozil signed, he got paid more than any of their players!
