good result (as a win generally is), shame we didnt push on to get a couple more goals but blackburn didnt really look like scoring. even if they did make it a little nervy it was never any clear cut chances.
Thought Pav worked hard with sensible running, Bent didnt get much sniff of goal but closed and harried all game. Lennon was dangerous. Hudd superb.

content sunday afternoon...

Im 50/50 on this.

But I think the point is, was that he was being cheered for doing such simple things, merely catching the ball - which followed by the crowds applause made it look like an achievement.

I dont know, but he clapped to the fans at the end, so I can only presume it was not sarcastic and just morale support.

If there had been no cheers, he'd have had no support all game.

I think singing 'We love you Gomes, we do' was deliberately to show that we were getting behind him with the cheers.
If we hadn't done the singing after we'd cheered him it would've seemed more ironic. But it seemed like me and all the people around me did it to show our support for him.

Not a great second half after a decent first, but a win's a win.

Pleasing to win as ever but we so should have scored more goals today. Lennon was absolutely fantastic and he seems to really be maturing at both ends of the pitch - to think some were writing him off!

In truth, whilst we only won 1-0, if it was a boxing bout it would have been stopped early we were really that dominant - and I wouldn't even say we played brilliantly. Blackburn really seemed quite limp and never really attacked with much conviction at all, and as ever were typically dirty and cynical. The red card was very harsh though I felt.

All in all, a good day, 3 points and really enjoyed Robbo's return.

good win for us today. couple more of those and we'll be in the top half. lennon, hudd and pav played very well. only bad thing for me was that we looked vulnerable from freekicks into the area. other than that im very happy with the boys.

We played well enough. Should have created more chances and closed the game off earlier but a win is a win :)

Great to get straight back to winning ways. A wobbly looking win, but a win none the less.

Who on the new coaching staff has taught Lennon how to cross? Both timing and power were all there! And Pav's running off the ball seemed outstanding on my stream - he just seemed to keep popping up, taking a pass and moving it cleverly, all across the final third of the pitch. Hudd needs to work on his passing - I detected a couple of millimeters of inaccuracy on the ones over 40 yards. Shameful.

Saw Gomes after the game, told him "you're one of the best goalkeeper's in the world, mate, keep going" and he seemed to get really emotional about and pleased about it it! anyway, think he can go from strength to strength from here

Also noted that he made the effort to drive from the West stand to Paxton, hop out the car and sign some autographs before going home. For a goalie, he looks really skinny, maybe this is why he gets outmuscled....meh, either way big G will come good.

Tottenham's number one...!

Well done mate, thats exactly what the fella needs. He seems such a nice guy, I really hope he gets it together because he is a good goalkeeper. Com'on Gomes!

Harry made two good points after the game to the BBC. The first was that he told Lennon to run with the ball, not to pass it to someone else, cos thats what the LB wants you to do.

The other point he made was that its crazy to sign a £16m striker and a £15m striker and then say they cant play together.

Thats what I like about Harry, he speaks complete and utter common sense.

Cheers buddy. It's good fun to meet the players after the game, If you can afford the time. They come out of the Paxton end (for those that don't know) about 30 mins to an hour after the game, but they come out in dribs and drabs.

Most sign autographs if you want them and it's a good way to see them first hand and have a (mini) chat afterwards. Obviously depends on if you need to be somewhere else, but if there's nothing special to get back for (excluding Top Gear), it's usually worth it!

Can also recommend the ressie games. Only been to one so far myself, but it's only a fiver and a good chance to actually see how the youngsters are doing. If you find it hard to come by first team tickets and dont do anything else on a Monday night every now and then, it's good fun. Last time I got to sit next to Alex Olsen and have a chat with Disco Taarabt!

Alan Hutton doesn't make the bench over Gunter... was there any talk of injury?
