That would make sense in that Routledge featured heavily in those training photos and I guess Ramos wants that pace on the flanks. I fear for Hudd though - he's not the photofit of a Ramos player is he?

Routledge eh? Who the hell is that?

If it's true it's pretty indicative that Ramos is determined to play with two wingers. And if Thudd isn't in the squad that doesn't really surprise me after Sunday.

Boateng and Zokora in the middle perhaps? Maybe Steed? Hossam Ghaly? Me?

Is that ITK from the training ground that you'll be lining up in the middle? With two attacking wingers you may have a lot of defensive work to do. ;-)

If we are going to play wingers and attack down the flanks then lennon, routledge, lee and chimbonda are all going to have to improve their crossing.

lennon4england on COYS posted this regarding the squad for tonight:

Huddlestone not in it
Routledge, jenas and boateng are
Possibly Routledge n the right as lennon has been asked if he would play left mid

What!? I thought we'd put a stop to this nonsense with Jol leaving! Ramos out!

LOL, Ramos out! I don't like Lennon on the left AT ALL. For the simple reason that he's no use! And he constantly has to pivot to get the ball into the path of his right foot because his left is useless. I'd like to see a stop to this too, he needs to stop being our left wing 'go to man.'

I think Jol's reasoning was that if Lennon can cut in and get a shot off with his right he could score us quite a few goals. The trouble with that theory is that Lennon's kicking is still a bit girly. I'm not 100% convinced, but it's got to be worth a whirl, if only because it gives us another tactical option and could benefit Lennon as a player by increasing his versatility.

In Ramos we trust.

I agree. And I think this is the reason SWP has been selected for England over Lennon. They are such similar players, but SWP has that eye for goal that Lennon doesn't and that higher ability to do so.

SS57, he had a game against Fulham last year at their place if I recall where he was awesome on the left but couldn't score for toffee, just need him to learn how to hit the ball really.

I doubt Ramos has seen too much of Lennon on the left in a match situation. I know he's watched a lot of Prem games in the past, but he's still getting to know the ins and outs of the squad and the players first-hand. I'll give him a few games and a bunch of training sessions to suss them out.

How the hell he started out as a striker is beyond me. I'm guessing he dribble it into the net?

I say we should just let Ramos choose who he wants in the side although, I do like the idea of Routledge and Lennon out wide, pace, trickery as long as we have two tough midfielders in the middle which right now I can only think of Malbranque, Kaboul will need to play at the back due to injuries otherwise I would have put him in the middle and told him to be aggressive and dominate the middle.

I think Ramos should be sacked if we don't get a win tonight
