Surely you can take a cup game seriously and still have at least one kid from the academy on the bench.
Well quite and further evidence, if already needed, that Pochettino isn't the great believer in youth as many on here are lead to believe.

Not a qualified opinion.
It's great to see young players on the bench, but there's probably very good reasons why there aren't any, factors that fans probably don't even know exist.
Not strange at all buddy.

Maybe, but then we can't really have an opinion on anything as we don't have all the facts. In terms of other contributing factors there are about 5 players that could get a chance, not like they're all going to have problems. They wouldn't be wasting a spot on the bench, looking at it today so I feel it's an opportunity missed. Can understand why you don't though, just disagree

Think so too, you never see Ronaldo or Messi rest. They all want to play as many games as possible, cause that's also the way you score as many as possible.
Messi was rested in Barca's cup game on Thursday. Course they both get rested.

You can have an opinion mate, that's what these forums are for, it's just not qualified and holds no authority.
I don't see what's wrong with just accepting there's a very qualified guy with more knowledge of our youth than everyone on here combined, who has decided not to put any youngsters on the bench, most probably for very good reasons.
Agree to disagree mate, it's for the best.

We can only use 3 subs though. We've got 4 attacking/creative players on the bench. They can't all come on, so one will be wasted no matter what the situation is. So why can't you give one of their spots to an academy player. What is that risking?

I am not saying we shouldn't be letting academy players get a spot on the bench, I am simply saying that Kane playing isn't a problem.

The fact we aren't putting academy players on the bench tells me that Poch either doesn't trust them enough or he isn't willing to take a risk on letting one play in a cup that we are taking very seriously now that the league has gone.

That's just me taking a guess though, I have no idea what his reasoning is.

I genuinely think he is no better than the other top 4 managers when it comes to youth. (Possibly worse than Conte and Pep).
He's worse than Pep and Wenger for sure. Even Mourinho has brought through McTominay.

Is this the first time in Poch's career he has 4 attacking subs on the bench? I guess Sanchez and Aurier arent available for his coveted 4 defender bench?

...why unnecessarily put more miles on Dembele's glass hip in this tin pot tourney?
COYS

This "Tin pot tourney" is something we haven't won for a very long time, as a matter of fact, we haven't won a trophy for years now so forgive me if I think we aren't above the FA Cup.
