If Kane had two sharper forwards next to him (Son first game back and Lucas having one of his "Lucas days"), we'd be out of sight.

Good first half, but not great.

Can see us going to 352 and some point with both Moura and Son coming off.

Brighton can’t be that bad second half

Don’t think Brighton were too bad (defensive mistake for first goal aside) — this is how they play and they’ve fashioned some good opportunities. We’ve just matched them for intensity and have the better players.

It's been a good half of football. We've had control at times but looked far stronger on the break. Unfortunately, being a cup game means there will be no damage limitation for Brighton if we get the third. They will still try to win, so it's going to be hard to maybe do something like give White and Scarlett minutes.

You'd fancy Conte giving Bentancur and Kulusevski their debuts tonight though. Maybe going 352 and giving Son a rest after the 60th minute or so.

His First touch is awful, amount of times it goes to him just to bounce off to the opposition.
It's been 50/50 with him so far. Some times he's shrugged off the defender and gone horizontal before passing out to Reguilon, but others his first touch has been shite and it's skipped up in front of him.

I’m fully aboard the Romero hype train. He changes the dynamic at the back.

This Spurs team and system is getting me all excited about football again.

'Would you rather have sex with Liz Truss or Priti Patel'

'Priti Patel'

'Yeah'

Really broken conversation from the young men on the table behind me. RIP my chances of tuning back into the football commentary.

Are you sitting with Bojo and Gove?

Lucas touch hasn’t been great, but he’s very much a ‘run’ type player, he needs a few games in a row to hit his stride - whenever we have an international break, or any break from playing regularly, he always seems to start the next game with a bit of a heavy touch, and over running a few things. Then usually plays himself into a bit of form over a couple of games.

Lucas is not being given an inch of space the defender is right up his arse every time the ball comes to him and when he gets it three of them close him down. He might get a bit more space as the game goes on. On the plus side the attention they're paying him is freeing up space for Emerson.
