I can't say I agree with your low appraisal of Jenas, the lad worked hard. He had a job to do and he alongside Palacios did it well. We bossed a Chelsea midfield that has for some time been one of the strongest units in the country and indeed Europe.

We outworked their midfield and we should not underestimate the impact Jenas' hard work had on Modric being able to have such a great game.

Jenas seems to be one of those players who are damned if they do damned if they don't, Spurs fans it seems will never be happy we have him until he morphs into a Steven Gerrard/Frank Lampard hybrid.

I am happy that to a man the Spurs team did great today and walked away with a fantastic victory. We never parked the bus and fluked a win, in my opinion we were the better team (both in terms of work rate and general play) and Harry should be given alot of credit for how the team is performing currently.

As already stated, you make a mockery of yourself by giving King a 6.

Gomes - 8 - Great game, maybe his best for us.

Corluka - 7.5 - Very calm and composed, we needed that
Woodgate - 7.5 - Generally very good
King - 8 - Captain's performance. Excellent.
Assou-Ekotto - 8 - Thought he was outstanding, especially in the last half hour where he got in the way of so much and nearly always found a team-mate when he won the ball

Lennon - 7.5 - Great assist to Modric. Caused Cole problems. Could've done better in possession a few times
Jenas - 7 - sometimes frustrating, some very sloppy passes, but did get stuck in and did some good stuff with the ball.
Palacios - 7.5 - Very good, apart from giving away a few free kicks.
Modric - 8.5 - MOTM. Outstanding goal, pulled the strings brilliantly.

Bent - 7.5 - Noticably better touch than usual, ran around a lot and created spaces.
Keane - 7.5 - always running around causing problems, not bad on the ball either

---------------------------------

Harry - 8 - Tactics spot on, but I feel he should've used the subs earlier to give us fresher legs when Chelsea threw the kitchen sink at us.

1-0! GET IN!

Gomes - MOM. 9

Modric, BAE, Corluka, Lennon - 8.

Jenas, King, Woody, Bent, Keane - 7.

Palacios - 5. Wins the ball then gives it away the next second. I get tense whenever he has the ball.

SUperb, superb performance from the Spurs!!

Totally agree,I said before the game that we needed Jenas and Palacios to have very good games to counter the threat of Chelsea's midfield and they certainly did.
I can certainly forgive a few wayward passes if it means these guys battling/harrying qualities can give us the platform to beat other teams!

People just don't like Jenas do they. How the hell can you give Jenas a 5 for giving the ball away when Palacios distribution was appaling, however they both worked their balls off against Essien, Ballack and Lampard. So both deserve at least a 7 for that.

Gomes - 8 - Great game

Corluka - 7 - Good game, lack of Chelsea wing play helped
Woodgate - 8 - Commanding
King - 8 - Imperious
Assou-Ekotto - 8 - Consistently good.

Lennon - 7 - Varied his game which got us the goal, faded near the end.
Jenas - 8 - Hardworking, box to box runs and did not give Chelsea midfielders the advantage
Palacios - 7 - Good harrying and cover work but yet again let down by awful passing. Has to start understanding his own limitation and keep to the simple square passes.
Modric - 8 - Brilliant goal. Drifted all over to give Chelsea problems

Bent - 7 - Much better
Keane - 7 - Drifted around and great vision

Anyone who has given Jenas below a 7 has gotta be mad, I thought he had a better game than palacios!

Gomes - 9 - What a save! A gordon banks impression from our number 1! MOM
Corluka - 7 - Good game, very little came down the left hand side. Alright going forward too.
King - 7.5 - Made some good blocks, seem to tire towards the end, but who can blame him for that! Mr. Tottenham!
Woody - 8 - The best of our defenders i thought.
Assou-Ekkoto - 7 - Well done Camolli. Another good game.
Lennon - 7 - Great assist, but I thought Cole handled him well.
Jenas - 8 - Really good performance, box to box running, dealt with Lamps and Ballack brilliantly.
Palacios - 7 - Lost the ball a few times, but makes such a difference to our midfield.
Modric - 8 - Tricky as usual, and what a finish!
Bent - 7 - Full of running, got in behind a few times. Piss poor touch tho.
Keane - 7.5 - So creative, but missed a couple of good chances.

Harry - 9 - 2 points from 8 games you know ;)

Fans - 10 - How can Modric and Lennon think of leaving when you play infront of support like that.. WHL was jumping!

Good 65 mins, then It was difficult for the defenders with 1-0 against a team need a win for title challenge, we needed a second goal - specially that Golden chance for Lennon - which could change the later stages of the game, we were under pressure and decent luck helped us.

CM WP-JJ didn't enjoyed the best times, they lost possession a lot - specailly WP - and i think this was because Chelsea used all of Essien, Lampard & Ballack .. so I'm satisfied with their peformance.

Ekotto, Corluka & Lennon could do better game IMO.

Redknapp ? The team was very tired, another game with very late subs, but who can blame him ? this is very settled team and the starting XI looks far better than benchers apart from why he is yet to pick Bale on bench, I think he could do better job than O'Hara, who looks very slow and not ideal for LM.
