Gomes - 9.5 (a miracle save of the season amongst a few)
Corluka - 8 (back to his best after slight dip a few weeks ago)
King - 7.5 (lost a few too many aerial battles, otherwise great)
Woody - 8 (assured)
BAE - 8 (in play off for most improved player of the season)
Lennon - 7.5 (in play off for most improved player of the season)
Jenas - 7 (harassed well)
Palacios 7 (best thing since Davids, harassed well, tackled well)
Modric - 9 (the difference between the 2 sides)
Bent - 7 (great effort, terrible control)
Keane - 7 (didn't take his few chances but can't fault his effort)

MOTM: Gomes/the team

Gomes - 8 - Great game

Corluka - 7 - Good game, lack of Chelsea wing play helped
Woodgate - 8 - Commanding
King - 8 - Imperious
Assou-Ekotto - 8 - Consistently good.

Lennon - 7 - Varied his game which got us the goal, faded near the end.
Jenas - 8 - Hardworking, box to box runs and did not give Chelsea midfielders the advantage
Palacios - 7 - Good harrying and cover work but yet again let down by awful passing. Has to start understanding his own limitation and keep to the simple square passes.
Modric - 8 - Brilliant goal. Drifted all over to give Chelsea problems

Bent - 7 - Much better
Keane - 7 - Drifted around and great vision

Agree. I havent realy gotten into the Jenas debate, as I view him as rather average decent player, but thought he was really good today. Worked hard, won some important balls, decent passing. So giving him 5 or 6 today is just pure rubbish IMO.

Sounds good but Palacios just about got a 5 for me

WTF? Do you see how different our midfield is with him in the side? Abs 100 % transformed. He is everything we've been missing since Davids. And even though he played some very poor passes he is abs vital for us!

Tbh the midfield partnership between Jenas and Palacios has made us so hard to play against... this coupled with Keane's presence has been vital in getting us on this run of form we have shown so anyone saying Jenas or Palacios deserves a 5 is an idiot who clearly isn't watching the work the boys put in off the ball

on the positive side of this... anyone who can't see the work they put in should apply for ajob at sky with Andy Gray as you know as much about football as him or alternatively an assistant mangers role with Wenger as he too should have gone to specsavers

You fucking wankers who rate Palacios below a 7 are simple minded twats. If you can't see what he brings to our team then you are either blind or a Soccer Saturday pundit. Yes he may give the ball away with the odd errant pass, but his general work rate and attitude is rubbing off on our team immeasurably.
Jenas and Palacios more than held their own against Lampard, Ballack and Essien. Says it all really.

MoM - Gomes. Our best keeper since Jennings.

Gomes 9 - Outstanding! a splendid save against all odds, better than the one he produced at west ham

Corluka 8.5 - Was brilliant attacking and defending (highlight when he walked past chelseas midfield and set up keane who should have scored).

Woodgate 8.5 - Great performance

King 8 - was beaten a couple of times by drogba but was solid other than that.

BAE 7.5 - Played well.

Lennon 8 - Brilliant attacking play and tracking back, but his end product is still hit and miss

Palacios 7 - gave the ball away countless times, but closes down the opposition ever so well

Jenas 7.5 - can only remember one occassion where he gave the ball away, but hassled well today.

Modric 8.5 - Brilliant goal, the ball sticks to his foot like glue.

Keane 7.5 - was very wasteful in front of goal, but linked up play well.

Bent 7.5 - He was all over the pitch today so great shift from him, but needs to learn to be a bit more selfish infront of goal.

Great collective performance by the team.. COYS!!

Re Palacios, i'm a bit worried that people think he is playing a bit poorly due to the outstanding home debut against Arsenal. While it's good not to get carried away with his performances (particularly the debut), it's also important to not go too far the other way and overly criticise him when it's not needed. Whether he played ok or not, people would literally have to be blind to not realise how different our midfield is now. He's brought something we haven't seen for years to our midfield so even if he doesn't have a blinder, it's still very obvious how well the team play with him doing what he does.

Gomes - 8.5 - for the save. He almost fucking caught it too. Looked very comfortable with crosses and even had a bit of luck with the crossbar shot.

BAE - 8 - Excellent. Stopped any real threat down that wing. What a season he's having.

King - 8 - King.

Woody - 8.5 - Fucking rock. MOTM for me.

Corluka - 8 - Part of a defence who stopped any threats during open play. The whole defence were brilliant.

Modric - 8.5 - He's a bit of a genius with the ball at his feet. Great goal.

JJ - 7.5/8 - for his workrate. He made one or two sloppy passes but his defensive work was excellent. Especially a saving sliding tackle late in the game. His defensive work in the last 2 games has been immense.

Palacios - 7.5/8 - Not his best game for us but has this knack of being in the right place at the right time. A few important interceptions and tackles. Comfortable on the ball too, which is nice.

Lennon - 7.5 - Great cross for the goal. His usual buzzing self without having as big an impact as he has in other recent games.

Keane - 7.5 - Ran his balls off, some good link up play, usual Keano stuff.

Bent - 7.5 - Hustled and bustled without looking like scoring. Really looked up for it though and won a lot in the air and chased back loads. Probably his best game for Spurs, including the hatrick UEFA cup game.

Would be interesting to hear all the Redknapp bashers at the moment. I predicted 0 points from our last 3 games at Sunderland, Villa and Chelsea and i'm a Redknapp supporter! We've only gone and got 7. Well done Redknapp, he's got JJ and Palacios working hard for our midfield now and we're a much harder team to beat.

YOIDS.

Gomes - 7 made some really good saves. Just wish he'd hold onto the fucker
Ekotto - 8 best game I've seen him play for Spurs. Top draw Benny! Work on that final ball.
King - 8 so composed!
Woody - 8 again same as King. Kept them at bay. Well played lads!
Corluka - 7 I like Charlie. Just a bit slow and doesn't use his strength but showed good stamina today until the end.
Lennon - 8 great game again for Azza. Did A.Cole for the goal and that counts for everything.
Jenas - 6 Stood off too much. Would be a 5 but he put in a brilliant shift with some tackles in the last 5-10 mins that knocked his score up a notch.
Palacios - 8 played well today! Fought hard and just kept sticking in tackle after tackle. Played Essien out of the game.
Modric - 9 MOTM! Got the goal, was everything good we did going forwards. Excellent son! You earnt your dough today.
Keane - 7 Played really well today. He gives us the leadership and bite we need. Defends from the top. If he played for us throughout this season no doubt we'd be challenging for 4/5th.
Bent - 7 I know he didn't score but didn't stop running. Held the ball up well. As the same as last week he is really putting in the shifts. First touch needs improvement and he needs to make some more intelligent runs. Good effort.

All in all we did brilliantly.

Harry - 10/10.

Some people have marked our players down unfairly. We were the better team and any 50/50 decision went to them. Unfair amounts of stoppage time and their free kicks most of the time (which resulted in the pressure from them) were very, very harsh.

We out-played Chelsea. They can have no complaints.

First of I would just like to say how well we played, we dominated most of the match, played good football and looked like the better side for most of the match. Everyone played well and done their jobs. When we scored they put some pressure on us and we stopped passing it and the last 10 mins were really nail biteing but apart from that I thought we was the better side. Was worried when he took Modric off who was our best player for championship o'hara. But what a great day today. Our fans were really good, chelsea fans were shit as usual!! GREAT GREAT DAY!!

Gomes-8 done everything right, great game, kept us in it, great save!! Thats why he is our number one.

Corluka-8 played really well, defended well.

woodgate-8 defended really well

King-8 defended really well, drogba was winning everything but still played
well.

Ekotto8 thought he played really well, noticed a few balls coming in on his side late on in the game but defended really well.

Lennon-8 played well, look bit tired I thought but is understandable, great cross for the goal.

jenas-8.5 Thought he had really good game.

palacois-8 done well, some good challenges, i like him

Modric-9 motm, great running, technique, great goal, he played really well today

keane-7.5 done well, usual keane done some good things, worked hard

bent-6 done fuck all really, worked hard but thats it, he is not good enough.

Gomes - 8 Great game definitely our number 1.

BAE - 8 - I am not his biggest fan, but what a game he had.

King - 8 - Strong and led the defence

Woody - 8. Great game..

Corluka - 8 - Worth the same as the rest of the defence.

Modric - 8 Is it me or is he getting better every week.

JJ - 7 Played his part well.

Palacios - 7 Almost an 8 very well played.

Lennon - 8 Set up the goal. Bt it was his work rate in tracking back that caught my eye.

Keane - 7. Great work rate, never stopped working

Bent - 7. As above. Worth his place at present.

I give Gomes MOM but it could have been any one of two or three.

Can't believe the Palacios backlash is starting already, absolute knob-jockeys who can't see how he has improved our side. Vieira and Keane used to give the ball away too sometimes to you know...

I agree, he is the player we have needed for a few seasons now, since Davids.

most of the headers i saw Drogba win were against Woody?

ok the two nearest the goal were King but if you get a run and the ball comes it is impossible to get to a ball first.

al the defence were excellent today, (Inc Gomes) perhaps BAE just one point less than King, Woody and Chorlie.

Midfield Modric and Lennon provided the spark, (modric was a class apart) and Jenas and Palacios provided the running (althought poor distribution again from both)

Keane linked up play nicely and Bent didn't stop running.

quality all round (and i had 1-0 in the prediction comp  )

It's pretty obvious what the difference is between this team and the one who was struggling before.

Keane and Palacios.

Palacios is not brillinat in his distribution (and I think Zokora is better there) but his tacking and covering is outstanding and just as important he forms a great partnership with Jenas.

Keane is the glue that holds midfield to attach together and with him we now hold the ball up and turn defence to midfield to attack. Shows how much we missed him. He also lifts the burden off Modric

Sure confidence and a settled team helps but these 2 players have made a huge difference.

Gomes - 8 Made the saves when neede
Ekotto - 8 looked real quality, unflustered and dominant
King - 8 again solid and confident
Woody - 8 quality and gave little away
Corluka - 8 some superb forward runs and untroubled in defence
Lennon - 7 superb intelligence for the goal, still liable to casualness in breaks
Jenas - 7 drove forward well and often dangerous
Palacios - 6 passing unreliable but always solid
Modric - 8 the business, really showing his class
Keane - 7 some great work, perhaps should have finished one chance
Bent - 7 worked hard and linked well with Keane

Is Better Than...

Heart says;

Gomes - 10
Corlula - 10
King - 10
Woodgate - 10
BAE - 10
Lennon - 10
JJ - 10
Wilson - 10
Luka - 10
Bent - 10
Keano - 10

Head says;

Gomes - 10/10. Faultless display. The Terry save was absolutely outstanding. The punch towards the end, brilliant... and his time-wasting was spot on! My old man said to me before the game, "Why isn't Cudicini playing?" and I said with genuine confidence "Because Gomes is a better keeper." Nothing against Carlo, but Gomes is finally looking like the player we thought we had signed. He's unorthodox to the core, but he's our octopus now!

Corluka - 9/10. He's a class act, isn't he? Too calm at times, but when it comes off, it's brilliant. Lennon must love having Charlie behind him. Top, top performance. Brilliant block towards the end at the back stick.

King - 9/10. Someone on here gave him a six. A six!? He was absolutely immense. He faired well against one of the best target men in the English game. Drogba didn't get a free header all game and it's the x-factor King has that makes him so important. He has 'it'. Whatever 'it' is. Inspires others and his presence breeds confidence on the pitch and in the stands. Wasn't it nice to see the old Ledley? Storming forward too. IF we make Europe next year, we should rule him out... let him concentrate on playing 30-38 league games next year. He's a 15 point a season player, at least.

Woodgate - 9/10. Brilliant. Again. King gets all the plaudits because he's a genuine Spurs legend, but Woodgate always looked like a sensational buy and has proved to be just that. Goes about his business with the minimum of fuss. If he's not in the top four English centre backs (meaning he gets in the England squad) then Capello needs his head checking.

BAE - 9/10. We've got a bona-fide fullback on our hands, haven't we? Looks incredibly assured and has been brilliant for huge parts of the season. Is a bit of a scapegoat to some, but he's been top draw in the last five or six games.

Lennon - 10/10. Well done Redknapp for giving him the standing ovation. That said, he was completely out on his feet after a non-stop display. To be fair, Cole played him well... but he also played Cole well. Cashley couldn't get forward at any point in the game. They doubled up on him all game and at the moment it's a must. His play going towards his own goal was brilliant. Never stops running, and the all important assist. A constant threat.

Palacios - 9/10. Massive Zokora fan, it's pretty obvious I am. And to be honest, on the ball I see very little difference. But Wilson has something that Zokora will never have. And it's a presence. Players hate playing against him. He's a beast. Sent Essien (in the top three central midfielders in the world in my humble opinion) packing with a superb challenge seconds before he was subbed.

JJ - 9/10. It started oh so terribly for him. Just like the 4-4 last season he was tackled on the half way line and crawled backwards. I thought "this JJ has showed up" but we got the other one after that. The one who runs his socks off and gets in the faces of players. Seemed to have a running duel with Lampard and he won it. Misplaced a couple of passes - which will always be remembered by his haters - but they had a midfield 3 and whilst I appreciated Keano dropped in to help - he and Wilson dominated their three.

Modric - 10/10. What a goal. And in the second half he was absolutely immense. In the Euro's he dominated Ballack and he did it again today. Next season he could be sensational, couldn't he? All that skipping in training worked a treat because he got away from three or four players in the second half and bought the place down! Thank God he's a Yid.

Bent - 10/10. Can't remember the last time a player got a standing ovation in the middle of the game whilst the ball was still in play, but East Upper rised to salute the hard work of 'Benty' in the first half. Basically played up top on his own in the second half and was a menace. Won headers, held the ball up really well and is definitely the player we saw at Charlton. Running in to channels, doing the work or two or three men and looking a threat. Always been a fan and love the fact that he's forming a partnership with...

Keane - 9/10. That aforementioned partnership with Bent is exciting. Unbeaten since his return, Keane's been brilliant. His link play is second to none. He works none stop and demands the best - like any good captain. Good day for him and paddy's across the globe!

MotM - Tough one, but I'm going with Gomes. Had a tough, tough season but he's turned it round. He was stunning today.

Harry - 10/10. 2 points and all that... Might not be everyones cup of tea, but got it bang on today. Keane dropping off to form the five when out of possession was a must and Keane took one for the team and did the job. He's got Lennon playing, realised the job Luka can do on the left and solved the 'midfield enforcer' problem. Has turned Gomes into a player when all looked lost and seems to have got Bent back to playing well.

And whilst I'm at it...

Levy - 10/10. I'm not suggesting for a moment we'd have gone down under Juande Ramos. But Levy wasn't sure and got his man in. And what a job he's done. Great week for Levy what with the business results and Aaron signing his extension.

Oh, and why not?

Fans - 10/10. I sometimes dread heading the lane, but even my area was positive from the start today. We've firmly ended the Chelsea hoodoo and I always fancy getting something from them!

Clearly my heart has ruled my head, but you can't blame me. GREAT day.

COYS!
