Just watching the highlights again and you do sometimes have to accept that life just ain't fair, Mousa Sissoko lays it on a plate for Kane eight yards out and Kane misses, Dele passes to Son on the side line in his own half and he gets an assist!:)

It was very noticeable in this game and to a lesser extent vs PSV that Lloris is now kicking long far more and we are cutting out playing from the back if there is any sort of press. I think we needed to do this and it cuts out some of the silly mistakes we have been making.

My Dad, who was lucky enough to watch the bloody thing, said Lloris kicked it out long more in this game than the entire 2 seasons combined. He was moaning that not one so called expert or pundit even fkin mentioned this startling fact. You're the first I've seen mention it so well done lol.
Keeper going long every now and then is a good thing when a team are trying to press high. They cant be up both ends of the pitch at the same time! We did the same against Liverpool, RM and BD last season which imo were arguably 3 of our best performances but for some reason we stopped doing it.
Its long been a bugbear of mine and my dad that teams keep playing into the high press trap. Mix it up, go long a few times and it'll fk them up. They'll have to drop deeper which buggers up their entire game plan. Once the high press is no longer there then you can start playing out from the back and keeping the ball.
It was a tactical masterstroke from Poch (well, bloody obvious imo but Sarri didnt see it coming), no way Lloris just suddenly started doing that off his own back right from the off.
In game management seems a thing of the past these days which also gets on my tits. You cant say 'we play out from the back no fkin matter what' because high press teams WANT you to do that. You'll fk it up eventually, its inevitable. Mix it up. It makes it hard for teams to know how to deal with you.

Ooh I'm ranting. Sorry.
Anyway, good shout on Lloris (y)

Coworker here in US was moaning today because we exposed Chelsea and especially Sarri, Luiz and Jorghinho after asking me two weeks ago when we were going to beat someone of quality. Just had to smile back and laugh today because nothing I said could make him feel worse then already knowing we kicked their arse.

Should have said hopefully we'll beat someone of quality on Wednesday because it's been ages ;)

my goodness, just got around to watching the first half. thats about as good a half as Ive ever seen us play. its not even like Chelsea was poor, we just outplayed them at every position. Poch needs to bottle whatever he said in the team talk.

I have been longing to see the kind of tactics we deployed on Saturday. Kane wins a good percentage of all balls kicked out by Lloris. It's perfect for us against all the top teams, because it means we can sit deeper then push up if we win the flick on or second ball in midfield. Son or Lucas can both run onto the flick on and retain possession so our defenders and Dier don't have to play kamikaze kick around at the back. The other perfect tactic was the line ball, played into where their fullbacks should have been. Worked every time and forced their midfield to track back and wide and away from the middle of the pitch. We need to try the same against Liverpool / City etc.

Performance of the season by a mile. Fast start got us ahead before they had any chance to settle and kept the pressure on. Really good performances all round and special mention to Aurier and Sissoko who've had plaenty of shit from the fans, and also Foyth who now has a prestige match under his belt. Poch got his homework spot on with Dele smothering Jorginho and Sissoko blasting holes all over the place. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely mate, and Sarri doing us a massive favour in playing Konte out of position was key too. I was only sorry that horrible little bitch Fabregas didn't come on to the pitch. It would have been lovely to rub his face in it along with all the others. God I hate him.

Yep. We could do with more of the same at The Haemorrhoids Stadium this weekend too.
