I can't complain about the selection, complete contrast to last weekend.

That said, Alli is so ineffective in that front three, if we could drop him for a proper wide attacker that would be much better but we don't really have one.

At least he's playing our best players and not Winks etc etc

Romero will be familiar with defending against Lukaku.

Exciting team hopefully they all turn up and put a shift in.

Very positive team selection. Højbjerg gonna be a very busy man today ?.Probably still gonna lose but as long as it's with us not capitulating even before kick off I can deal with that...... But you never know what can happen!! Coys!

Really surprised at how positive that lineup looks. It could go many ways too;

A diamond with N'Dombele at the tip? 433 with Dele on one of the wings?

That's a good line up from Nuno. Win or lose, it's a step in the right direction. The performance may not be as fluid as we'd like as it's the first time we've really put out close to our best team, but we have to give these guys time to gel.

We've paid a lot of money for Ndombele and Lo Celso and they haven't lived up to their price tags or what we've expected but I think we need to allow them to gel with hopefully an extended run in the team (something which neither have really had in their Spurs career).

Whoever Midas is, he clearly gets good info with team news.

Let's have 'em. COYS.

Seriously? Is this the time to drop Skipp and play just one holding midfielder, in front of such a fragile defense? Against Chelsea? And start four players who haven't trained with the group all week?
This smells of desperation and anger on Nuno's part. You want open attacking football? Get this XI and see how an opponent like Chelsea destroys us, then get off my back for good. We are losing this anyway.
Not optimistic at all. Hopefully I'm terribly wrong.
Then again, if this works against Chelsea we should play like that each week. I hope it does, on all different levels. Great to see Lo Celso start.
One of, if not the greatest player we ever had has died, we’ve been way to negative and it’s a derby against the blue scum. As I’ve already said I’d rather lose 2-4 having a proper go than lose 0-2 or 3 not having a go. The fans will be far more forgiving of the former than the latter.

Just realised it's Kepa and not Mendy in goal for them. Kante not starting either. Don't expect to keep a clean sheet, but we can trouble Kepa. They're also weaker in the middle without Kante. He makes them tick like nobody else.

It'll be tough, but I am a little bit more optimistic seeing our XI and theirs.

Don't think brave is the word I'd be using. If the front three do nothing defensively like they have the first few games then we'll be destroyed.

One cause for some trepidation about that team is both GLC and Ndombele starting. We tried it a couple of times in Europe last season and it was awful. Hopefully that was due to other factors but I think Hojbjerg is going to have to have blinder in order for us to have much joy in midfield.

I think this has been one of the biggest problems with it though really in that they haven't had consistent games together. Have they ever played two or more than two games in a row starting in a three man midfield? Even if they have it certainly can't have been too many times at all.

I just really hope we persist with it for a bit longer than we have done before deciding it just doesn't work.

Wow a decent looking side. Hope the players are fit enough. Even so this is the sort of team we should be sending out. Win, lose or draw I hope this is the shape of things to come

Said in the nuno thread, if it's a diamond it scares me.

I think it will be 433 with lo celso playing in the lucas position.

Tough tough game.

The thing I like most about this XI is that there is only one wide player (Son) as opposed to the usual 2 or 3. Not much chance we are outnumbered in midfield, with PEH, Ndom, Dele, and Gio all starting. Maybe we can even play some football.
