Ange is reasonable. He will not be happy but he will also realise these players are limited and it's a case of hanging on til we get some back.

If our key players put in this performance then every bit of criticism would be warranted.
I don't know , going by his latest interview before the match it's clear he doesn't want to make excuses for having players out. Even with the players we had I think we should have defended the 2 nil better. We lived very dangerously 2nd half, were lucky var got involved (rightfully so) for their goal but it took a great save from Vicario and they had one blasted over from close range towards the end. It was far too close to throwing away a 2 goal lead. I'm sure he'll want better control of games even with the under strength team. That's not being overly critical as they've done great to dig deep today and get the win. Just that there's room for improvement and there's nothing wrong with that.

were lucky var got involved

Ange had a great comment on this after the match:

You're not a fan of VAR but do you think it helped you out today with the Everton goal ruled out?

Nah, see that's really bad terminology. Why would it help us out? It was a foul. It didn't help us out and I don't like VAR. I don't like it today either. So that's part of the problem because people use that kind of terminology, like it helped or it goes against. It's a tool, it's used. I still don't like it.

People moaning that we had second string players today like Emerson, Dier, Davies, PEH and Skipp - they were what Conte had as his first choice when he arrived - and he had Loris in goal - no wonder the guy was ill!

Jesus what's wrong with you? people had a right to criticize elements of our game today. That doesn't take away from the result which of course is the most important thing. Nobody has suggested that and nobody is upset with the result. You seem to be the only one making more of a deal out of it. I just don't get this idea that you can't criticize when we're playing poorly just because we're winning. That's all it is, nothing wrong with wanting to do better and yes I do believe Ange will feel that way as well. No need for the sarcasm. I mean wasn't Bill Nic famous for being critical even when we won games? That's what separates the top managers from the rest. No need to be a dick about it just because you don't agree.

lol. Ok. And my knee hurts (as you were asking what’s wrong with me). Always the same when it’s cold.

Thought we were desperately lucky tonight. Superb for the first 20 minutes but not good enough across the park for the rest.

It’s weird watching Tottenham these days. Even when we’re playing badly, like tonight, I’m still buzzing when we play it out, intricately, but stupidly from the back.

I can’t believe we haven’t won a game 8-2 yet. I also can’t believe we haven’t lost 8-2 yet.

Spurs though innit. So much more fun than last 3-4 years.

Good result, sketchy performance.

It's a sad state of affairs that we're seeing as much of Skipp and PEH as we are.

Desperately need another decent CM and another top quality CB but I doubt that will be possible in January.

Just watched the free highlights having followed the game via online text commentary and have two takeaways:

1) No idea why anyone thinks the decision to disallow the DCL goal is controversial - it’s a very clear and obvious foul by Silva. Very similar to the one Palace scored v Liverpool a couple of weeks ago which was also ruled out by VAR.

2) Efan Ekoku could not sound more pissed off by the last minute crossbar/save combo. He honestly sounds like he’s watching footage of someone steal his car at that exact moment. No idea why he hates us but my word it’s satisfying to piss on his chips.

Conte had Sarr and Bissouma yet preferred Skipp and Hojbjerg.

He wanted Richarlison yet fucked him around.

He took the best form out of Deki.

He misused Son.

He wanted Perisic yet he didnt even register a goal under him.

Conte did have the crap but he stuck by that crap and still complained about it

Lost? Wtf..

First half we were excellent, for most of it.

Romero coming off affected our abilty to build from the back.

We were also very wasteful, Son in particular.

Kulu had a big chance for 3 nil.

They certainly had their chances but fuck we didnt deserve to lose this lol.
I didnt say we deserved to lose?

But on another day they get a penalty from VAR for the shirt holding and that shot at the end goes a few millimetres over the line instead of just staying out. Its not that far fetched to say we could have lost, and i dont think we could have grumbled about it.

Still pleased with the effort and the win though.

Alas I had Effin UCuckoo on my stream chatting shit from the off - he hates us.
After about 10 mins (wasn’t counting) he exclaimed it was the first time Spurs got in the Everton half - obviously forgetting Sarr had a shot at goal on about 28 seconds!

Feicin eejit
Yep I heard that one. And the commentator didn't correct him

Making my way back from the game towards Devon.

We dominated the first half and should’ve put it away well before the half time whistle. Everton pushed further up the pitch in the second half, Andre Gomes and Danjuma gave them that impetus coming off from the bench added with Spurs being leggy as well as having players out there who were brought on to see the job out.

Considering we have injuries and suspensions we are in a decent place. Four points from Arsenal who are in year 4 of their project and we are month 4. Still a long way to go but by heck with a depleted squad, Ange and the team are doing alright.

Heard a bit of negativity in the ground about Johnson, fair enough but he got his assist, doesn’t really look fully fit and also it’s just the start of his Spurs career and is relatively young.

So glad for Richy as well continuing with getting his confidence going.

Once we have those pivotal players back like Madders, VDV, Udogie, Biss and Bents it’s going to be so classy, we all knew it early doors that this squad is such a good one: just need a few more windows to bolster it.

With the way we play injuries are expected and in the long run with a blend of youth (style of play already injected at U21 and U18 levels, being top of the respective leagues) & more of Ange’s signings I cannot help but get excited for the future.

Everton were good today but if Dyche spent less time trying to referee the match and spent more concentrating on his team they would be better off

I’ve read Dyche’s comments and they are fucking stupid. Of course VAR is re-refing the games, it’s the whole point. They re looked and it’s a clear foul on Royal.

Not sure why Sky have a headline like it was controversial. It’s obvious

Well your we couldnt of grumled about it had we lost.... implying they were the better side.

Over the 90, they wernt

And on another day Kulu burys his chance and Son does infinitely better in multiple good attacking situations for us.

I saw it live and was astounded the ref let them play on.

Such an obvious foul.
