Actually think Arsenal are a more rounded team than Liverpool at the moment.

Yes Liverpool have a very good front three and a good midfield behind them bur their defense is very vulnerable.

VVD is not what he was before his injury, not even close. Think Son could run him ragged.

Maddison pulling the strings can cause them real problems.

Even Salah isn't quite what he was and I fancy Udogie to handle him.

I get what you're saying and I agree we can definitely hurt them, but it's them punishing us that makes this more difficult than Arsenal defensively. Anything similar to Udogie's back pass or Maddison being robbed in the box and they'll likely score from it.

Oh definitely but those mistakes came through the pressure of the derby away from home. Fairly sure about that. Well Udogie's anyway.

At home, under the lights and the team's flowing confidence off the back of Sunday and I'll be surprised if we see similar mistakes.

Whilst this has been a cursed fixture for us in recent times, we never fail to create chances against this lot (even under Conte & Mourinho). Their front line is clinical at the moment, but they're lacking a real defensive presence in midfield, and their back line can be got at.

Going 3-2 Spurs. COYS.

Gonna be tough. Someone needs to sit on trent stopping him playing which will leave Udogie 1v1 vS salah. Big test.
we can dominate them in midfield and biss needs to do to szbo what he did to ode.
I have to ask what you're planning to do with all this time you're saving by not typing full names ?

Udogie v Salah should be good.

We can definitely get at their back line.
I was so impressed with how well he managed the game after his yellow on Sunday, but Salah is a whole new beast. Glad we have so much pace in our defence now, as Salah, Nunez and Diaz (presuming that's the three they go with) will be tricky as fuck.

Just praying Madders and BJ are going to be ready. Without them, and particularly JM, we look very light.

Liverpool playing in the CC tonight but they'll probably make 11 changes.

I don't disagree about why the mistakes happened, but Liverpool can put us under pressure so it could happen again. Salah scores that Jesus chance in my mind.

Need to move the ball much, much quicker than we did at the Emirates if we're going to play out from the back. The key to that is creating passing options in midfield for our CBs to find. A bit worried about their gegenpress style tbh. Their back line are there to be got at though.
Gegenpress?? Until this thread I've never heard of it. Had to look it up. So trying to get the ball back immediately after losing it....

Playing Arsenal away is a much bigger test than Liverpool at home.

Liverpool have looked extremely vulnerable defensively and have been let off the hook by multiple teams - I certainly believe we will cause them countless problems and will punish them.

Arsenal have struggled to create chances this season, but have been defensively excellent; Liverpool are almost an inverse. We can definitely get at them, but I see the chances we gave up against Utd and Arsenal and know Liverpool will take them.

It's been 'a thing' for a few years now. Klopp was known for it at Dortmund so it's hardly new. Hipster terminology though like xG, xA and all that stuff.

It could, but we can pressure them into mistakes.

We're at home and have to act like it. Just like they do at Anfield.

I don't feel as hopeful about this fixture as I did about Arsenal...

When I think of playing Pool, I can't think of a time we've shown up recently. And now that I've looked back, we haven't won a fixture against them since they signed VVD. 3 draws, 9 losses

I'd be content with a well-played draw this early in the season. Absolutely over the moon if we won

Yeh we’ve not had many good ones against them. We played OK against them last year and we’re obviously unlucky. We also had a decent game against them with Ndombele and Winks in the midfield.

We’re obviously a different team now completely. They need to fear us as much as we do them. Think it’ll be a great game.

The recent history is irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

We're a completely different proposition under Agne.

salah and diaz are both tricky, explosive, and clinical. Personally I think that’s the worst kind of player you want to face as a fullback, and as great as Porro and Udogie have been defensively they haven’t faced anything like them so far (I’d say saka is more ‘smooth’ and reliably/unspectacularly effective). If they can keep those two relatively quiet I will be even more impressed by our fullbacks than I already am (and I am already super impressed by both!), to the point that we might actually have a potential title challenge on our hands despite it being ange’s first season and it being so early on in it …
