Oof, the "human error" was that VAR thought the onfield decision was that Diaz was onside so they said "check complete" to confirm he was indeed onside... what a cluster fuck.
I can actually kind of sympathise with that error. It was a communication fuck up rather than someone getting the rules of the game wrong or operating the equipment poorly. Still massively incompetent, but shit happens.

Just got off work, watching the game now. Through the first 10 minutes, already very entertaining. Some of the midfield play is reminiscent of peaks Barca tiki taka. Just wow.

Nah fuck this. We made Alisson make two world class saves, had multiple other opportunities that we didn’t take advantage of. We missed a little finesse at the end but to say we were lucky is total shit.

We deserved the win fair and square.
Nope, Liverpool were definitely robbed. It's only fair to set a precedent by having a replay at a neutral venue.

Embarrassing from VAR. Yes it has implications for the wider game and shouldn’t happen but in terms of this game, so what?

The goal they actually scored came from a free kick which should never have been given. Udogie clearly played the ball and pulled his leg out of the follow through. Never a foul let alone a yellow. Why is no one talking about that?

The straight red was correct, the rules may be deemed harsh but they are there to protect players. There was no malicious intent, but there doesn’t need to be. Could have broken Bissouma’s leg. He was lucky, as was Vic last week.

Jota can’t help getting a soft first yellow but is still an idiot for then getting himself sent off with a silly second.

We weren’t great today at all, but they can sod off with the sob stories

Might’ve been mentioned before, but last year when we played them at home, a clear penalty was missed when Sessegnon was pushed over by Trent. We lost the match 2-1.

PGMOL released a review of their decisions half way through the season and said this was one of 5 clear mistakes. One of the others was Cuti’s hair pull against Chelsea.

Still not even though, as they’ve had many favourable decisions against us over the past few years.

The amount of people still having a go at Neville’s “oh no” in here when it quite clearly wasn’t us being on the attack that he was saying it at 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

There has been so much uproar about this yet what is the diference between this and the ref miscommunicating something with his assistant?

Which happened before VAR was introduced.

People just want to keep saying "VAR is a joke" but they even said it was human error.

The problem with VAR is the lack of consistency with applying rules and the rules themselves.

You would be getting those same issues on the field without VAR anyway.

Funny how tribal it all gets. The reds were entirely justifiable. It would also be justifiable if they both remained yellows. That grey area exists and that's absolutely fine. The good goal they had disallowed is an absolute howler from VAR and really disappointing for them. they were totally robbed of that excellent goal.

Overall, it would have been very disappointing to draw or lose vs 9 men and we weren't really at the races with our numbers advantage. Very hum drum, didn't go for the jugular at all. The two wingers cutting in all the time meant they kept us comfortably at arms length. The one time we went outside, hat tip to Romero for passing directly to Porro and not via Kulusevski, we lucked an OG. But what a great top corner finish that was

I would say Jota had a culmination of tackles though, plus should been sent off last year 🤣
Their forwards are murder for the snidey technical fouls. Just as a break is happening, the arm tug, the run across the back of someone's legs for a clip etc. The innocent I didn't meant it ref hands go up straight away. They live by the sword they die by the sword.......fuck 'em

I disagree. It was an accident. His foot makes contact with top half of the ball, the ball rolls and brings his foot into contact with Bissouma’s leg. Because of his momentum it could have seriously injured Bissouma but he wasn’t reckless, he had no intent or used excessive force. It was an accident and in football as in life they happen. It’s like if Your car sloops on ice and crashes into another car - it’s not a punishable offense just an accident. I know many of you agree but if it had been the other way around you would be making this same argument.
I would say most late tackles are just late and not intended to injure anyone, it doesn’t make it any less reckless or dangerous

The Udogie freekick wasn't mentioned by Sky at all. He clearly played the ball. Neville was too busy going on about the red card being wrong but was a clear red going by the rules.
