Please stop minging the tackle on Biss was *accidental* or he didnt *mean* too. The tackle regardless of intent or malice was dangerous, even if he doesn't go over the ball its still studs up and uncontrolled. If you make that kind of tackle, you are opening yourself up to a world of hurt both for you and your opponent. The diaz goal is a pretty shit but I couldn't give any fucks as it happens week in week out, we have had it and it will happen to us again. We won, fuck Liverpool.
Is laughable right. Who in the right mind, giving all footballers benefit of doubt, will purposely tackle players with malice? Using 'accidental' or 'no intention' is the weakest argument for such incident. And with the same argument, the scum shouldn't be given the penalty last week because in no way was Romero's hand being anything 'intentional' there.

There is no amount of grandstanding and complaining by pundits that is going to change my mind on Curtis Jones, it was an appalling challenge and I can't believe that's being ignored to make a point about the officials. That was the clearest red you will ever see
The more I see it the worse it looks. It’s totally unacceptable.

Gerrard slid in early in his career and got the ball but went over the top and broke someone’s leg iirc. The commentary at the time were how he was a nice lad and he would do it deliberately despite the fact the other guy couldn’t fucking walk

All the ‘Liverpool were robbed’ takes must be part quotes and must have proceeded to say ‘Liverpool were robbed…..of a 33rd min opening goal and there is still an hour to play where Spurs have shown this season they will still be well and truly in this game. Hopefully for Liverpool their players are smart and don’t make a bad situation worse for themselves’

No? Funny that

I guess Liverpool are the first team ever to get a VAR decision go against them

Yeah I agree. It doesn't matter if he was trying to control the ball or not. It only matters if it was dangerous, and it was.

Most players don't try to injure other players so most red card tackles are a genuine attempt at a tackle or to control the ball.
Makes me laugh when pundits use that line ‘he wasn’t trying to hurt him’. Like it’s the 70’s and that sort of thing goes on week in week out!!

Players have a tendency to tackle like Jones these days, leading with their studs. I was always taught to go in with your instep, a block tackle, but wonder whether nowadays coaches & medical staff worry that will tweak knee ligaments.

Got a couple of boxes of Spurs tissues that I’ll be leaving on the desks of some Liverpool’s fans I know on Monday 😂😂

I don’t often get to go to games but was lucky enough to have tickets yesterday. One big thing I noticed yesterday is the beginning of a change in mindset of the supporters.

In the last 10-15 minutes whilst we were struggling against Liverpool’s back line the number of negative voices was far smaller than I’ve experienced before. The same with the acceptance of mistakes as we try to play through the press. We, the fans, seem to really understand and buy into the way we’re trying to play.

Pedant corner:

“Rules”. People keep talking about whether events were according to the “rules”.

They’re “laws”. The laws of the game. Not “rules”.

So so funny, I can’t stop smiling this morning. The irony of Liverpool getting robbed. lol.

I hope they feel every injustices today that we suffered at their hands for a long time. And more to come I hope with match bans for players who got red.

Can’t have enough of it, and lol I don’t feel sorry for Jota nor Matip who got the own goal, I hope they feel like shit this morning.

At the end of the day humans aren’t infallible are they. Mistakes happen. I think some people thought VAR was going to be some magic bullet that stopped any mistakes from being made by officials again. It has in fact reduced mistakes massively, but It’s always the problems that are highlighted and the concept of VAR gets the blame.

Refs are humans at the end of the day, I do think we have a poor standard of referees but like Klopp himself said, nobody did this on purpose. The premier league need to get serious about the state of refereeing though, there needs to be huge investment in the grass roots of the profession, and a crack down on dissent at the top of the game which will filter down to grass roots games and make it easier for people to get into officiating. There’s plenty of money in the game but the refs are paid a pittance in comparison to the players, coaches and directors. Even the frigging pundits and presenters are paid more to waffle on about the same old cliched bullshit week after week.

Webb seems to be making some progress with the PGMOL being more transparent, so that’s a good start. It’s not going to change over night.
The PL are serious about dissent, they even make the players wear an armband with the word Respect on it.

Seriously though, my own personal belief is that referees wouldn't be allowed to crack down on dissent as there'd be too many matches abandoned due to sendings off. The TV companies, who own the game, wouldn't like that as their product would be less saleable. It must be humiliating for referees to have to accept the way they're abused, harassed and bullied by players on a regular basis with no support coming from PGMOL.

A lot of faint praise for spurs in the press today. 365 claiming Liverpool clearly the better side (it was very even, IMO), Neville saying we'll be miles off challenging for the title, everyone saying we were lucky. But I thought we were brilliant in parts in that first half. And I thought we deserved to win. F*** 'em.
How can they judge us when the ref has a shocker. All we can do is play our game, and I don’t remember liverpool creating too much bar the Diaz and Gapko goal. Still think we could have won this 11 vs 11. In fact it was harder for us vs 9 as Ange's style of football relies on quick transition and pressing. Cant do that with 9 players behind the ball, so really interrupted our game.
