Think I need to pull you up on Clough, Japhy me old son - he scored 251 goals in 274 games (albeit in the Second Division). Of players in the 200+ goals club he has the highest goal to games ratio of any player in English football history. If he hadn't been scythed down by a goalkeeper at the age of 27 and had his cruciate ligaments mangled he would have likely scored a lot more. It's true he may not have been famous as a player, but he was still a very, very good one. It's always intrigued me why people think good players will be good managers. The game is littered with quality ex-players who have been abysmal as managers and others like Ferguson, Clough, Mourinho who didn't set the world alight on the pitch but had a great understanding of the game, tactics and man management.

Unless you're talking about Nigel Clough...
In which case neither applies!
That's a bit harsh on Clough!Good player but only 2nd division. The Teemu Pukki of his day.
