I just realised the Ukrainian league has already started, so the result has impressed me more.

It's amazing how people see different games.

I thought PEH was class today, I think we'd be absolutely foolish to sell him.

For me I'd play Bissouma, Hoijberg and Maddison against Brentford. It'd be Bissouma as the 6 and PEH as the 8, but either way would be fine.

Nothing against Sarr who is going to be a star.

I just got back from the game, nice day out great to see so many kids there.

1st half like the other games very wasteful in the final 1/3 we certainly need to be more clinical, we were too easy to get at as well. one ball over the top and we were at sixes and sevens.

Our style of play seems to compact the game into a small area of the pitch (Final third) which makes it easier for the opponents to defend at times. We're going to see so many blocks and near misses this year.

Great pressing winning the ball back numerous times, a bit of a worry if we miss that first press and get turned but VDV will be a great addition for that.

Decent game , good performances , Des looking very good and Deki instead of keep cutting back on to his left as he often did last season put in some crosses with his right, Ange instruction maybe.
Another plus point no price increase on Amstel , still £5.19 a pint , wonder if that will be the same for the PL games.

How good is Destiny by the way.

Him and Davies had some fun overlaps going on but he was popping up all over the place and the whole team looked a lot more confident. My concerns are still there around our defense though, if we're going to play high up and attacking football we're still short back there. I think at one point Hobo had dropped into the back line while Romero was bowling up the pitch, which started to leave gaps in the centre of the field (can't wait for Bentancur to start again), nobody made a fool of themselves though, really, at all.

Since the game was on Twitch and stuff, does anyone have a (legal) link to the game, apart from Spursplay?

He did make a fair few nice passes. One excellent pin-point long ball to Son on the left and a couple of nice ones through the middle between the lines.

I thought he had a decent game today. Absolutely prefer Bissouma in that role but thought PEH looked better in this role today than he has for a while (and I'm in favour of selling him).
maybe but I do agree with Rob here.

He does a few good things per game so maybe those of us who criticise are being a bit too strong.

However, he also has a lot of moments where he lacks spatial awareness (players running off him), plays consecutive sloppy passes and panics at moments.

We have seen countless occasions of him just hoofing the ball cause he knows he lacks the finesse and guide to get out of the press and unfortunately in todays game all succesful teams have to do that.

I would be ok with keeping him in the squad but I believe we need a player who hasnt limitations to really kick on.

No hatred. I thought he was rubbish. A game where the defence could Jane a night of and we got caught a lot. He should have covered.

And on the offensive he was captain sideways.

I thought he offered nothing but appreciate everyone sees a diff game. Thanks for your analysis

It’s not PEH’s paying that’s the problem it’s his awareness. He can’t receive the ball on the half turn. The amount of times he receives the ball in space but facing our goal and instantly passes back to a defender because he doesn’t turn.

I keep yelling Bentancaur is the perfect 6
For me Bentancur is the perfect 8. Great presser, good for the odd goal, good link-up play in tight spaces.

Bissouma is the obvious 6 for me. Our most press-resistant midfielder, great defensively and ideal for ticking the ball over without giving it away. He's also a bit crap going forward so is wasted high up the pitch.

Love Bentancur but he has the odd game where his passing is off the boil and he gives it away sloppily. Don't like that in a 6.

If Bissouma is injured then we drop Bentancur back to 6 and play Sarr as the 8.
