Sissoko is not good enough, especially now we have Ndombele.
He has been no worse than Ndombele, both are receiving the ball too far wide meaning they have to lay it off for the fullback or pass it into the crowd, they have no opportunity to drive forward or to release a plarr

Don't understand why we didn't focus on improving our fullbacks if we intended on playing a diamond formation. That's the one formation where you need to be confident in your fullbacks to provide width.

I dont understand why people are saying this is a dialond formation. It isnt. Its supposed to be a solid 4-3-3. Well at least thats how they started the match. And we do not seem very comfortable with this formation, with sissoko being the biggest culprit, seemingly not knowing where he should be or what he should do.
Are you suggesting a lot of people don’t know what they are talking about?

In a match thread?
With knees flying everywhere?
After only 45 minutes?

You new?

Dead. Think I’m only going to do Derby’s at a push. Honestly this is embarrassing.

Winks looks wonderful, the rest a bit naff.
He has kept the ball moving and one excellent slide tackle.
But has created nothing.
And if he is the dm, then maybe it was his job to pick up that runner from midfield, Mcginn.

The most freaking frustrating part of him is that he doesn't even shoot anymore!
Dude has a wicked left foot and scored bangers at Roma, and he just freaking stopped even attempting here.

Could not agree more my friend, do you remember when he played in Italy and he just ran at 100mph and cut-in on his left foot and would put the ball right in the top corner! He looked like an upgrade on Bale and that is saying something as everything Bale hit that season went in!!!

You put a left-footed Lamela on the right wing and a right-footed Moura on the left wing. Both will be cutting inside (I don't think Lamela knows how to play on a wing anyway). I want players keep carrying the ball down the wings as well, especially considering how wank our fullbacks are.

Its about their starting position. Not what they do when they have the ball. The inverted wingers is much more normal when you play that system than wingers who are always looking to go outside rather than inside as you need them to be able to come inside on to their stronger foot to score.

Its pretty simple to tell them if you don't have the ball stay wide.

At the start of every season since Poch arrived I’ve said that what I really want to see is some evidence that he can turn 11 players into more than the sum of their parts. That hasn’t happened so far, and I don’t think it will. I still think we’ll win today, and we’ll do OK this season, but there are coaches out there that could do better, and we should be aspiring to the best.
