TEAM FORM - Spurs WWLLL ------- West Brom: - WLLDL ------- (All Competition)
We are one of the traditional titans of the English top flight, and are usual contenders to qualify for the Champions League. At one point during the season we were even on pace to secure the title. We are now struggling at the moment, and have lost three games in a row in the league. We are 9th in the league table, and the absence of Kane due to injury has been a crucial loss. Mourinho has now come under pressure after some poor performances. Haven fallen off course and are struggling, we are striving to get back to our earlier dominating ways, and need a surplus of seven points to get into the top-four.
West Bromwich Albion, on the other hand, are 19th in the league table, just one point ahead of 20th placed Sheffield United. They were busy in the January transfer window, signing players like Mbaye Diagne, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Okay Yokuslu on loan, and they will have little time to adapt with instant results required.
The only consolation we have is the fact that we have two games in hand. We need to start performing at a much more higher level here on, or we could kiss goodbye our hopes of representing England on the continent the next season.
Sunday we have a great opportunity to deliver a win, and get our confidence back. We are at home, and are pitted against one of the worst teams in the whole league in terms of position. As I said the Baggies are placed 19th in the table, and have won just twice all through this campaign. They are also a recently-promoted club, and are finding it hard to cope up with the intensity of the experienced teams in the top flight. Moreover, they have conceded the most number of goals so far in the whole contest – 52. In fact, no single other squad has let in even 40 goals yet.
We lost 1-0 on the road the last match-day, against Brighton. In the meantime, Sam Allardyce’s men lost 2-1 on the road the past game week, against the dead-last placed Sheffield United.
The Baggies were winless in 27 of their preceding 30 overall match-ups, and they have won just once on the road since July of 2020. On the other hand, we were unbeaten in 29 of our last 34 overall matches, and have lost just thrice at this venue since June of 2020 – against Everton, Leicester, and Liverpool. On top of that we also have a great home record against them over the years.
We should win this one, but recent results dictate that we do not hold our breath.

Wonder what this match thread will be like come 13.45 tomorrow. Hopefully, Mourinho & the team can put in a "keep your job" performance.

Good thing about this game. By the time I wake up it will be all over, so I really won't have to suffer for 90 minutes.

The immortal tale of stoppable force versus moveable object. Could be either 0-0 or 5-5.

Was shopping around the books for best odds. One of the odds im looking at is first goal scorer. Only 1 book has odds on an outlier player and there shockingly low. Alfie Devine at +950. Not sure why an Anerican book would even know who he is. But now it has me thinking he could be in the team tomorrow.

I truly hope we lose tomorrow so Jose can go. I can’t take watching this shitty football and still be losing I mean if we were winning I wouldn’t mind but defending most of the game and still leaking goals? How does that work ?

Big Sam will have Brom fired up for this one. They’ll know they can get a result if they press us hard and get at us.

As for what we’ll do, or how we’ll play, fuck only knows.
West Brom seem a bit of a bogey team for us (maybe that is the historical “spursy” attitude that poisons our club talking) so I’m not expecting an easy game at all.

I honestly think it could go either way. I have my bets on WB to take the win, but I dunno. Depends if we actually turn up and play football like our players have the capability of, or if we stick to the shackled, lacklustre dirge that we’ve seen recently.

If we lose, our form will be nearly (if not entirely) bottom of the table stuff. A team with the players we have, with a highly decorated manager in the stadium we’ve got producing bottom of the table form. The mind boggles. It just doesn’t make sense.

Don't want us to lose, but want Jose gone and a win won't help that to happen.

Hate watching us because we are turgid so wont be.

Will be a very cagey, nervous affair I imagine but it will be interesting as to whether there is a) any kind of change from Jose b) any reaction from the players.

I suspect that if they get after us and get a goal that we will crumble. If that is the case I really hope it is enough to make levy pull the trigger.

Win, lose or draw... this probably will be the worst game of football to watch ever. It's two crap teams playing crap football and it's going to be as much fun to watch as paint drying.

TBH I'll probably skip the game and catch West Brom's inevitable 92nd minute winner on YouTube later once the anger has subsided a little...

Just like most recent matches, the team selection will dictate the performance and likely the result. There is absolutely no reason to play five at the back or three in midfield. We aren't creating chances without Kane and Reguilon, so playing three attacking players like Vinicius, Son, and Bergwijn isn't going to work. There's too much pressure on Ndombele to create everything. Lamela must start, and frankly, so should Bale. Bale, Son, Lamela, and either Moura or Vinicius should start. If Sissoko or Winks start, or Mourinho opts for Doherty/Davies as wingbacks, then the team is going to be trouble and Mourinho's team selection will have cost the squad even more points.

I’m looking forward to it, as always... it’s a bit of a no lose in my book

A Spurs win of any description is always a happy event, and we escape the Goons for a bit longer.

Lose or even draw and he’ll be one step away from the trap door, even if Levy doesn’t pull the lever till May...
