Credit to Wolves, they had a good plan, executed it perfectly and had top performances from Dawson and Neto. We've created some chances, but were too slow.

The real problems were in defense and usually it's on the manager. We've lost Porro and Udogie, but their replacements are supposed to be better defensively. Still, we've let Wolves had 12 shots and some of them were clear cut chances from just couple of yards. There has to be some changes to the system. Arsenal and City play with four centre backs right now. In Football Manager terms, too many of our players are on attacking mentality.
It’s always on the manager. He says he tells them to keep going forward even in last 5 mins when we are 1-0 up. This means we are always liable to ship late goals. I said earlier this season that I hoped he would not turn out like Bielsa who did a great job at Leeds and then halfway through his second season in prem lge everybody seemed to work them out. They were getting stuffed 4 5 and 6 goals.
No doubt we have better class players than Leeds but some of these recent games are very similar, especially the home games. We’ve got away with it in most games but not today.
We will have to turn up in that Villa game or 4th place will be gone. They are playing well again in spite of injuries.
I have read various stories that we will probably pay the 15m for Werner, seriously, he has shown very little.

I'm just going with having too many returning players leading to not clicking yet. Mini break and hopefully we kick on again.

Positive spin.

We haven't been playing well and have taken 20 pts from 10 games.

What if we do click?- you have to imagine we will do.

How many points will we then take?
Heh, the idea we'll ever take points again. Wake up. It's over. It was fun while it lasted. Move on.

Maybe a little training trip sesh somewhere wouldn't be a bad idea. Change things up a bit, try and rekindle some of that early season magic and form for returning players.

He had the best forward in the world, and did you miss the two continental tournaments that just happened mid-season?

Honestly the best thing about him and Mourinho being gone is not having to have Spurs fans point to titles won by fucking Chelsea as an example of why we should like a manager.
Yes sorry - you mean the ones where we were missing Son, Sarr and Biss - as opposed to the World Cup where Lloris, Dier, Davies, Rodon, PEH, Bentancur, Sarr, Richarlison, Perisic, Son and Kane played.

Come on be fair to him here the world cup stopped the season for everyone

That’s certainly part of it. The squad are still learning plan A. However games like today show that we need a plan B - no point having 70% possession if we can’t do anything with it.
A lot of teams will sit back knowing we’re vulnerable on the counter and powder puff in possession against a low block unless we work hard on this type of scenario.

In my opinion it’s because teams now sit back and give our midfield no space to work in. I don’t think it has anything to do on rustiness or anything, there’s just simply no space for our creative players to work in.
This is the same problem ManC, for example, have. They just have more top quality creative players like KDB, Foden or Silva where we are very reliant on Maddison to create some magic.

You don't need a plan B.

You need to get better at what you do.

The greatest coaches don't abandon plan A at the first signs of trouble, they double down and work harder to overcome the obstacles.

Far too many pundits have thrown around this 'plan b' idea over the years and it often doesn't take long before "they should get back to what they were doing'.

Ten Hag is a fine example. He started with his plan A. Shat himself and slowly went to a plan B which really hasn't worked.

You can only go to Plan B when you have the fundamentals fully embedded

Wolves are a bogey team for us, and the loss of Udogie and Porro emphasised their strengths and how they like to play. The players look tired, a combination of the high intensity style of play, the injuries and suspensions combined with the international tournaments and we look half a step slower than we did pre Chelsea.

We need to use this week off to rest and reset

I can't remember when we truly played well generally.

Almost every game our system gifted spaces on the wing and chances that are easier to put away.

Hope Ange evolves the system fast . We can't play kamikaze football every week.
That’s what we are mate.
I can’t remember when we last had a comfortable victory. Last minute wins are great but the way we are playing more likely to let them in.

What, us? Spurs?

Probably 10.

But seriously, this isn't the same as before. I'm not sure we've quite got the attack/defence balance right for a very strong PL, but we are undoubtedly in the best place we've been as a club for many years, if not decades. It's frustrating but this will get better.

You can say 'let down' but with 2 key players out do we have a Devine right to beat Wolves???

I think a lot of those Wolves players get in our team.
We didn’t have a divine right but that performance was poor. If that is the standard we deem acceptable then what is the point.
