All I'm saying with things looking as uncertain as they are in the States at the moment, the last thing Americans (generally, which doesn't necessary include a minority of risk-adverse investors) want to do is splerge more of their hard-earned. The sub-prime stuff has hit a lot of institutions and the world-wide lending market is sufferring.

So we won't be taking on any debt-backed bids any time soon - especially from America. If it's "cash-up-front" maybe. But how many of these people have a couple of hundred mil kicking about in liquid assets?

Loads of em have that sort of cash - they hide it in their huge elastic waistbanded trousers

2 - Stoof, there are a number of wealthy yanks that have already made the potential gains they had available in their respective sports (baseball, basketball, Americal football) and are looking for future revenue growth opportunities. And they see clubs like spurs as being a relatively untapped opportunity.

But if ENIC are thinking of selling I just can't see them sounding out potential buyers until as a minimum they have planning permission for a whacking great new stadium. But once they have that in their back pocket we will be up for sale.

Have you seen the exchange rate? Yanks won't touch us I am sure. Unless they have UK based funds already.

Levy is putting too high a price on us. Way too high.

do any of you have a single (x1) share in spurs ?

My wife brought me one a few years ago - it cost her about £30 for a framed certificate and all - if i sold it now what a loss - it would be worse than Gangs Of Arabia

I have a few shares. Not for profit but just to support the team you know? I even buy stuff from our sponsors. I never gamble but I did a fun 20 quid bet on Mansion just to give them some $$$.

Sorry, what can't you buy? Do you mean Spurs Shares? You can buy them. Or do you mean Americans? You can certainly buy them.

I was under the impression that ENIC was buying up all Spurs shares and that they were no longer available to the general public, didn;t that happen when ENIC took Alan Sugars shares?

Anyone who doesn't put the club in debt. Manu are paying £30m a year just servicing Glaziers debt, which is okay until you get a downturn the Glaziers will be off leaving the club in the ****.
I hope Levy and co carry on steady affordable progrees not Leeds.

I reckon we want Richard Branson buying the club for a few reasons:-

1 - He has squillions of cash and I'm sure he won't miss a bit going on signing Kaka and Alves.

2 - I'd look forward to airline stewardesses serving drinks and scoff throughout the game

3 - I'd like to see him try one of his daft stunts and parachute into the ground, only to veer off course and be impaled on the cockerel on top of the East Stand.

You're underestimating. According to Manchester United Supporters Trust, the annualised debt has risen to £100m. £73m of that has to be paid this year.

If that is correct, I can see why United supporters are worried and angry. Also, why I'm alarmed at the number of people on here who seem to think selling the club would by definition be a good thing.

SS57 totally agree and stand corrected. Keep the club British and debt freeish.
