Derdiyok I would like from Germany

In a slightly different style someone like Vucinic would fit that role very well. Actually he'd be an ideal partner to Defoe too.

These two would be my main targets.

Vucinic would be a fantastic signing but unfortunately he seems to be quite fond of Roma.

I actually think Elmander could make a big impact this season. Very slow start to his time in England, but many foreign imports suffer the same fate. Looked very good against United yesterday and has started this season very well. I like him and will be keeping a close eye on from now to January. Keeps going the way he is going and I wouldn't be adverse.

Jones was fantastic yesterday, the problem with him is that he is totally inconsistent and wouldn't touch him on that basis, but if he was more like that every week he would be an obvious signing for us.

It's impossible to guess what strikers would be available for which fees ideally I'd like for us to look at players like Nilmar or Kiessling who are on the verge of being world class but are not quite there.

Maybe the Coyle effect? I've only seen MOTD snippets, but he does seem to have got Bolton playing something that looks suspiciously like decent football.

Quite possibly, although if it's based on no longer being confined by Megson's tedious slugfest football then there's no reason why he couldn't show similar, if not better form for us... Although Bolton paid £9m I think for him, so factoring in his rise in form and Football Inflation they'd be asking double that...

Llorente would do for me. Probably one of the more gettable players for us, and would cause all sorts of problems to defences in the prem.
A good few months, stay in champions league, be in top 4 and have VDV on fire in January and we may attract the big name striker we all crave.

I actually said they dont pay all their players huge wages. Not that I believe you know what their players are on anyway. Not to mention the fact we signed VDV from Real Madrid. So wages obviously weren't the issue there.
