Just because Evra's previous allegations were not proved in his favor, it does not make him a liar. It is extremely difficult to prove an allegation of racism when it's one persons word against another with no witnesses, which is one reason why I expect few players to come forward if they have received racist abuse from another player.

I only recall Stuart Pearce being brave enough to admit he said something racist to Paul Ince.

Nope of course it doesnt. But theres a massive case of the boy who cried wolf. Funny how these things always happen to Evra and no one else.

In the past, he has made 3 claims of racism against him

Amount found guilty: 0

He should be the one with the ban after this, if Suarez is innocent

He isn't.

Do you think it's because he is black?

Or maybe because he has the balls to go public and face the kind of accusations he has on here.

What I don't get is that even if a footballer was minded to use such abuse in this Country he'd have real problems with his team mates and other footballers.
I know Suarez is scummy but it's odd how this keeps on happening to Evra.

Which team mates? he doesn't have any black team mates, think about it

Just because others haven't come forward it doesn't mean that it hasn't happened to anyone else. Rio Ferdinand claims he was racially abused by an England player.

I hope that suarez goes down for this, and is shamed to the point where he can no longer play in the England. There are two reasons for this:

1) I bet you anything that so many people use the word and it gets blown off as just on-field antagonism - thats not ok.

2) suarez is a disgusting cheat. he connives, he lies, he tricks the ref. it's not all in the name of gamesmanship. My gf is a big US college sports fan, and she is sickened by suarez and adam. She can't comprehend that people go to such lengths to cheat another team. The sport should be about who's best wins. People like suarez take that element out of the game. I despise him.

I wonder how many people would still be outraged if it turns out Suarez called him a frog?

In nfl, it's so expected that you get a mere 4 week penalty. In college football, the most recent figure is around 1.3% who use steroids, and it's dropping yearly. I would probably venture in saying that around that number use it in PL.

This is outright dishonesty on the field of play. It makes my stomach churn to watch.

I guess that one of the positives of having video refs in sport is that it reducing the benefit of conning the ref in real time by cheating (diving etc).

On a slight tangent, I was a bit surprised watching the Rugby World Cup recently, the amount of players kicking the ball and then deliberately running into a player to try and draw a decision. It's a slippery slope and not one that is completely confined to football
