I guess that one of the positives of having video refs in sport is that it reducing the benefit of conning the ref in real time by cheating (diving etc).
On a slight tangent, I was a bit surprised watching the Rugby World Cup recently, the amount of players kicking the ball and then deliberately running into a player to try and draw a decision. It's a slippery slope and not one that is completely confined to football
If you have ever tried to play as a back in a rugby match you would realise that all too often people are happy to make it seem as though they are innocently standing in your way when you chip the ball, when in fact they are deliberately obstructing you. Anyway, it is no where near the same ball park as diving and rolling round like you have been shot.
On the point about Suarez, it is very difficult to prove that someone has called you something racist during a football match. Yes if there is direct proof that he did indeed cal Evra something he should be banned, but Evra does seem to have previous in alledging he has been racially abused by playersm when no other black player on the pitch has been abused themselves.
