It's all kicking off now. Arsenal going for Vardy, Sky saying Zlatan going to United, Gundogan just the start at City. We'll need to sign at least one player that strengthen the XI rather than just beefing up the squad if we want to be fighting for the league next year.

Arsenal signing Vardy would be super. Incredibly strange signing, wouldn't fit in there playing or personality wise

A good way to concentrate the dislike of an entire club and a player in one place. Excellent move.

If Arsenal buy Vardy that's a really stupid signing IMO. Great for Vardy but no way Arsenal are going to change their style to play to his strengths (running onto long balls).

Also, very happy to have a reason to hate that club even more!

The Sky claims seem to have softened slightly overnight, but I'd say Vardy would represent pretty good value for them in the short term for 20m. They actually score most of their goals on the break, so he would be an asset in that regard. Against park the bus less so, but still not the stupid signing some might claim. But he would be even easier to hate wouldn't he. Punchable face, check. Serial diver, check. Hounds and swears off at refs, check. Runs to opposition fans to gesture after scoring whenever he can, check.

The alarm bell would truly ring for me thigh if they also go on to sign a top quality CB.

Michy or Breel come on down...

That's pretty much what was being said last year when Utd signed Schneiderlin, Depay, Martial etc.. We do need to sign a couple though, regardless of what everyone else is doing.

Those United players were all mostly prospects though, these are all players who have performed strongly in the some of the top leagues in the world.

They're all prospects. Shevchenko, Di Maria, Soldado etc all performed well in top leagues but couldn't cut the mustard in the EPL.

He's a major talent and is coming off a great season at Villareal. I think he's better than both Stones and Laporte, so 28 million pounds is a decent deal for United for a 22 year old.
he's a pretty decent player.. but jeeze that's a lot of dough ..I'd definitely have Laporte ahead of him though

The usual suspects will be buying a fair few it seems. We make a couple of shrewd purchases and come the end of August we could be great value for the title at the bookies.
They love a big name and all these fancy names, with big reputations arriving at the meg arich clubs will have them slashing the odds on City, United and Chelsea. Thing is, how many times have we seen players coming to the Prem via bug transfer fees and even bigger reputations, only to flop?

Xhaka, Gudogan or Wanyama?
Only one of those has performed to a very high level on a consistent basis in the Prem.

I fully expect people to tell me Xhaka and Gudogan are twice the player Wanyama is etc, but I suspect many would have said similar things when comparing, oh, lets say, Mangala or Otamendi and a certain Mr Alderweireld not so long ago.

Trust Poch. If he wants Wanyama, who is criminally underrated on here by a few by the way, then we should support him 100%

Leicester have signed the German national teams keeper, must mean Schmeichel is on his way
Zieler didn't even make the German squad for the Euros, so he's probably about 4th or 5th in line in the current scheme of things.

Vardy should be able to do what they were hoping Walcott would this year. He likely won't miss the chances Walcott did.

That being said Vardy being a racist **** makes him seem so much more suited to be a Chelsea signing...

They played on the counter against us a bit though. Maybe they'll use him for games against better opponents.

Vardy potentially going to Arse...

and now there are reports from France that PSG are chatting with Kante and offering to trigger his release clause.

Would leave Mahrez, who i am sure someone will go in for by the end of the summer.

LCFC getting picked apart by the wolves....
